  • When evaluating energy costs, diesel fuel prices often receive the most attention because they are the easiest expense to monitor and are highly sensitive to market fluctuations. However, energy costs in plantation operations are not determined by fuel consumption alone. Generator maintenance, spare part replacements due to intensive use, fuel transportation to operational sites, and losses caused by power-related downtime all contribute to the overall cost of operations. In many cases, these less visible expenses have a significant impact on long-term operating costs. Understanding which cost driver has the greatest impact can help companies identify opportunities to improve efficiency and make more sustainable energy decisions.

  • July Is Here. The PLTS Quota Application Period Is Now Open. Following the implementation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 2/2024, applications for rooftop PLTS to PLN are only accepted twice a year, in January and July. While system capacity can be tailored to your energy needs, applications must still be submitted during these designated quota periods. ATW Solar is ready to support you throughout the entire process, from checking quota availability in your area to obtaining your Certificate of Operational Worthiness (SLO). 📩 Get in touch with our team today to discuss your PLTS requirements. #ATWSolar #PLTSAtap #SolarEnergy #EnergyIndependenceForEveryone

Last month, I had the opportunity to attend SNEC Solar PV & ESS & H2 Fuel Cells Exhibition and Conference in Shanghai, China June 3 to 5, 2026. & visit Jinko Solar Co., Ltd.'s module factory and BESS production facility. SNEC brought together the latest technologies and innovations across the renewable energy sector, while the factory visit gave us a firsthand look at Jinko’s module manufacturing process, BESS production, and quality control standards. One of the key takeaways from this experience was seeing how Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming an essential part of the energy transition. As renewable energy deployment continues to grow, energy storage is no longer just a complementary technology, it is increasingly becoming a key enabler for grid stability, flexibility, and the integration of clean energy. Grateful for the opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain valuable insights.

Behind the Scenes: Trina Solar's Manufacturing Line & Their Latest BESS Technology — Shanghai, China 🇨🇳 I had the chance to walk through Trina Solar's manufacturing facility in Shanghai firsthand — an experience that completely reshaped how I see a panel I used to only encounter as numbers on a datasheet. On the production floor, I watched stages I usually only read about in spec sheets: • Cell sorting & testing — cells binned by output and efficiency before moving forward • Stringing & tabbing — automated soldering of cells into precise strings • Layup — strings laid onto backsheet and encapsulant (EVA/POE) • EL (Electroluminescence) testing— catching microcracks invisible to the naked eye • Lamination — heat and pressure bonding every layer together • Framing & junction box installation • Final IV curve testing — verifying performance against spec before packaging What stood out most was seeing the technology currently driving Trina's module lineup — the Vertex N G3, built on their n-type i-TOPCon Ultra cell platform with output up to 760W, bifaciality up to 85±5%, low linear degradation of 0.35%, and a temperature coefficient of 0.26%/°C. Numbers like these translate directly into LCOE gains on the projects we design back home. And then there's the BESS side — Trina Storage As the company's internal microgrid and BESS specialist, this was the part I was most curious about. Trina Storage's current flagship, the Elementa 2 Pro, is a vertically integrated, liquid-cooled utility-scale system built on 314Ah cells with a container-level capacity of 5.015MWh. Their newer Elementa + Electra architecture takes it further — an integrated DC+AC solution delivering up to 25MWh storage and 13.8MVA AC output in one package, with a three-tier liquid cooling design keeping cell-to-cell temperature difference under 2.5°C, a 10ms full-power response time, and grid-forming/black-start capability built in. For someone who spends his days sizing BESS and PCS in Homer Pro and ETAP, seeing the actual cell-to-AC integration on the shop floor made the theory click in a completely different way — this is what "vertically integrated storage" actually looks like in practice. Solar and storage technology are evolving faster than most of us realize. 🌞🔋 #SolarPV #TrinaSolar #TrinaStorage #BESS #EnergyStorage #Microgrid #RenewableEnergy #SolarManufacturing #PVTechnology

  • Rooftop solar (PLTS Atap) installation in Indonesia follows a quota-based application process under Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation (Permen ESDM) No. 2 of 2024. Under this regulation, applications are evaluated based on the available capacity in each PLN service area, with application windows opened twice a year, in January and July. Applications that exceed the available quota are placed on a waiting list and processed in the following period. Because quota availability, project requirements, and administrative processes must all be considered, organizations planning to install rooftop solar are encouraged to align their project timelines with the relevant application periods.

  • Carbon emissions are generated through many everyday activities, with energy use remaining one of the largest contributors. Understanding your carbon footprint is the first step toward identifying opportunities to reduce emissions. In Indonesia, where energy accounts for the largest share of emissions, improving energy efficiency and adopting cleaner energy sources can make a meaningful difference. ATW Solar supports businesses across Indonesia in their transition to cleaner energy through tailored solar solutions that help reduce emissions and optimize long-term energy costs. #CarbonFootprint #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #Decarbonization #ESG #CleanEnergy #Indonesia #ATWSolar

  • ☀️ What does 5 kWp actually mean, and how is it different from kWh? In this edition of #ATWAnswers, we explore one of the most frequently asked questions about solar PV systems: the difference between system capacity (kWp) and energy consumption or generation (kWh). Understanding these terms is essential when evaluating solar energy solutions and determining the right system size for your home or business. Every project has unique energy requirements, which is why choosing the right solar PV capacity matters. Contact the ATW Solar team to determine the solar PV capacity that best aligns with your energy needs and goals. #ATWAnswers #SolarEnergy #SolarPV #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #ATWSolar #EnergyIndependence

  • On 3-5 June 2026, ATW Solar Indonesia participated in the Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference & Expo 2026 (ICM 2026), organized by Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) at Pullman Jakarta Central Park. During the Coal & Energy Transition Forum, our Director, Teddy Suryawan, shared insights on how hybrid solar PV and battery energy storage systems can help industrial and mining operations reduce diesel dependency, improve energy reliability, and support ESG targets. With diesel costs accounting for a significant portion of mining operational expenses, the transition to cleaner and more efficient energy solutions is becoming increasingly important for long-term cost stability and sustainability. ATW Solar Indonesia remains committed to supporting this transition through practical, reliable, and future-ready renewable energy solutions.
