Why foraging needs an NPC sell price buff asap

under the best possible scenario of no lag, no route sharing, no random dc's or lobby closing i got a top 200 starlyn contest for helix, thats 42k miria contest points, how much did i make? 8-9m, in 20 minutes of best case scenario i made 8-9m, thats 25-27m an hour... i could sell my jdrag and just with the money from that get a farming set that makes 30% more for 1/4th the effort...

Speaking of effort, foraging is the most active skill in the game, no left right left right farming, no warp here break diamond warp there break diamond, no you warp jump around or warp around to break one tree then either run or warp to the next tree and break it in order, unlike mining and farming where everything is extremely predictable foraging isn't, sometimes sweep just doesn't work, sometimes your thrown axe goes off into narnia, sometimes you spawn a mob that tp's to you every 5 seconds and blocks your vision...

a nearly max foraging setup makes 2/3rds the money that my half assed 2200ff farming setup makes requiring substantially more active play with no extra drops to buff the total income, im not dropping exp capsules, random pest drops like slugs, vinyls, rarefinders, etc.

instead you get helix the only thing you can sell to npc and for a price not even worth investing into, maybe buff the price of beacon transmitters? why are vinyls 25k and so common but a beacon transmitter is 5k and takes 10x the time to get one

foraging also lacks passive income entirely, unlike farming or minions for mining mats you get nothing.

25m an hour for max setup and all this effort just isnt worth it at all when i could make that holding 2 buttons farming or make 20% more not moving at all mining diamonds.

agree, i think foraging is way more effort than farming and should def make more. Idk how much but i think it could be good to have a progression like farming > foraging > mining in trms of money since farming is easy and mining is a lot of effort too and a costly setup.

Foraging should be buffed a lot imo and mining too, especially gemstones. On ironman I don't really make much for eithr method and now greenhouse is nerfed I feel like these are in need of a buff more than ever before as the way things are its just not viable to get the billions of coins needed on this profile while making 30m an hr

exactly, they want us to use active methods for money but then give us horrible rates for active methods and get upset when we'd rather log in 3 times a day to water/replant greenhouse instead of either make zero money from mining or foraging or stare at crops for 10+ hours, they've already stated they want us actively staring at the screen when we farm, literally watching paint dry is more interesting.

I don't get how your're only making 25-27m/hr with a 'maxed' foraging setup. I think my setup is slightly better but not leagues. I get 570k logs consistently (without active beacon buffs) or 60k+ points. I make around 37m/hr with selling coupons npc. However this is me being basically maxed, and a top 12 pb holder. This doesn't make near the amount it should with the amount of setup this took and amount of effort is required for foraging.

On a side-track, they also mentioned before going to buff gemstone prices. Instead of releasing these random not announced nerfs to farming, maybe give us an actually good alternative to it for money.

To be fair, we still have one more Foraging Island that needs to be released. Though it may not be for a while, we can only speculate it to make more than what helix trees do right now

how many contests did it take aswell, unlike farming where you get your own private lobby and dont need to worry at all about ping helix is the opposite, a little bit of lag ruins it massively, slows down trees regrowing, bugs out sweep to not work on logs cut, makes logs take longer to cut, and can just cancel active sweep chains. i did this contest with little to no downtime inbetween each tree with 2.05k helix fortune and 1230 sweep, we also need to worry about other people getting in the way or just jumping into an active route

the real issue is that they nuked extra galatea tree gifts prices...not even torrhus...

hummingbird 400k to 30k bro
it's basically like removing it from the drop list...

one thing that i didn't like in this update is that they forced everything in galatea to be worthless basically

this update is the galatea killer

so many complain about new foraging money output and u don't even say a word about that

because i have no reason to go back to galatea, new content should supersede old content, ive gotten everything ill ever need from there and there should really be a reason to farm fig once you've hit the stage to farm helix, because at that point you'd be wasting half your setup, sweep.

that pb was my most recent contest, if I play during the whole contest those 570k I mentioned are the numbers I am consistently getting. I don't notice insane lag spikes in most lobbies. Sweep is kinda buggy but just try to spread out logs breaking over the whole tree so the sweeps doesn't interact with eachother.
I get 2326 helix fortune (0 beacon, max half empty and max helix fortune perk cause I thought it was funny.) and 1295 sweep on breaks after first. My route normally isn't that contested, I have 4 main trees I like and then I go in a circle and just break the trees in that route. Sometimes like 2 of those extra trees are broken but I can just skip those.

there's also the case of how much you make with max setup vs a 70% setup, for foraging a 70% setup will make half or even less, meanwhile farming a 70% setup will make, 70%.

its why mining is so garbage until you get the the point that its not, same with foraging, until you get the "2 tick" breaking you dont really make good rates, especially if you cant jump and break effectively, its a pretty obvious pattern, skills that rely on a stat to break blocks quicker wont ever be good until you get that stat near max.

What? this is a ********* take, hummingbird is 0 npc coins, it is market decided. They did nerf fig quite hard yes but only cause some big trees are now gone, mangrove should be npc decent, cause you can instamine now. Also you shouldn't be foraging there for money anyway.
A fisher shouldn't be making the most money on bayou, it should be on late-game content like lava fishing.
A miner shouldn't be making the most money in dwarven mines, it should be on mid/late-game content like shaft mining (which is why it should be buffed).
A forager shouldn't be making the most money on moonglade marsh, it should be on mid-game content the torrhus canyon.

tbf I don't know when the tick thresholds are. I only remembered my last massive increase at like 980 sweep. But I assume there isn't a 1 tick-threshold we can reach now?

prob not but the biggest jump i noticed was when i got jdrag and went from 1k to 1200 now i almost insta mine it feels like which reduces the effect of lag ALLOT < which is why farming is so good regardless of lag, you dont slow you breaking down with lower tps it just slows how quickly the server catches up to what you've already broken.

and yet people are doing slayer in the hub xD and are constantly in the crystal hollow doing vault runs..even tho they are maxed in glacite tunnels..an island w an higer tier display

shush kid

bro the only lobby that died is the gold mines...cos' u stay there 3 seconds... every other lobby has a meaning behind

different when its the only method for a specific part of the game that isnt even made to be a mmm to npc... all of your examples are tp bazaar or to auction house lol, and yes blaze makes more than rev.

A big problem I feel like with foraging is that people underestimate how important fortune and sweep are, and how much of a difference seemingly small upgrades make, and on top of that, due to foragings high APM nature, most people just really suck at foraging.

Top foragers can consistently get 550-600k contests without full effort, which make a good 35m/hr. But the majority of players don't even have a PB that high, so they think foraging just sucks for money, when in reality they just suck at foraging.

I guess this poses the question, should the devs balance rates based on the average or the peak? If they were to buff little tims 20m/hr rates up to 40m/hr, the top foragers will suddenly be making 70m/hr to NPC, which is honestly ridiculous (rivaling even tadgang fishing) and not good for game in any way.

I don't know, I feel like a 50% coin buff (20->30) would be good. Not too much that it makes foraging busted, and not too little that little tim will be upset.

Edit: I take it back, don't buff it at all. It's fine where it is.

top of any skill should make allot more, especially mining and foraging where the amount you make is based on your overall skill.

no one was asking for double coin foraging, I would even be surprised if they'd ever bring it up to 30 coins. I am one of those foragers you mentioned and I think buffing it to 25 coins npc (25% increase) should be reasonable. But also buff the rare items to npc. Signal enhancers should be like 100k, it'd be nice to sell karma books (and also first impression/missile) just because inventory clutter and tree the fish to like 500k. I think that'd be respectable numbers. The issue with buffing it to 30 coins per log. When the next foraging island releases they're gonna have to backtrack on helix log price because you might be able to insta-break. Which would massively buff helix rates to an absurd level.
