Write a short story about a monster that attacks humanity and then disappears. The world unites in peace knowing it must pool resources and build a common defence in the event the monster returns. When it does, facing down the huge modern arsenal of modern human development, it dies almost immediately to a couple shots from a mid-tier weapon. The world is in shock, and now we don't know what to do with our uniting threat gone.
