Create custom emails

Quickbase offers several different types of automatic emails, such as custom emails, notifications, subscriptions, and reminders.

Custom emails allow you to:

  • Combine capabilities from notifications and subscriptions

  • Use pre-built elements to simplify customization 

  • Fine-tune when emails are sent

  • Automatically handle the difference between one record being changed and many records being changed, without writing two different emails

To create a custom email

  1. Navigate to the table that contains the data you want to notify users about.

  2. Go to that table’s settings by selecting Settings from the page bar (or select the three-dot more menu from the sidebar).

  3. Select Emails. You’ll see any existing emails that are part of that table.

  4. Select New Email in the page bar.

  5. Choose Custom email.

Set up your custom email

  1. Choose a name for the email. This name appears in your list of emails.

  2. (Optional) Add a description.

  3. Choose when to send the email:

  4. Add email recipients to custom emails.

  5. Decide on the right data permission checks for custom emails.

  6. Create custom email content.
