Thanks for visiting my page! I'm Matt - A one-man indie outfit attempting to make games and get my little projects over the finish line so you good people can play them!
I've been into games and programming most of my life. My influences reach far and wide but started with playing games on the Sinclair ZX81. I quickly moved on to the Spectrum +2 before getting my first PC (a 286). This was the beginning of my interest in gaming and making games, using BASIC.
I enjoy retro gaming, love a good adventure game (I wrote a Monkey Island walkthrough completely from memory when I was 15) and have always liked a good puzzle/logic game.
My gaming has always been on computers or consoles, but very occasionally a mobile game can pique my attention for a while. Sadly I've found most mobile games to be garbage and simply a way to push micro transactions. The good ones often tend to be the well thought through puzzlers like Monument Valley and Machinarium. Although I have to admit that a good game of Block Blast does reel me in sometimes, perhaps because I was a Tetris fanatic in my youth (which I played on a Gameboy I salvaged and repaired from a junk store for £5!).
These days I mostly develop my game ideas in Phaser, and I try to make them "mobile first" but compatible with desktop/tablet users too. I find Phaser to be such a good way to lean into an idea, as its so accessible. Sometimes though I do switch over to Godot when I want to work on something a little more complex- that said my latest tinkerings with PS1-style 3D games in the browser have been very interesting.
I hope you find the games I post here engaging and fun! I sure have a lot of fun making them.
If you are interested, I post about my developments on https://nocluecoding.blogspot.com/ too :)
Cheers, Matt.
