Heart Linkletter

I figure with all the updates on Facebook and posts on blogs, most of us can just post links to everything we wrote that month. I even came up with a clever title that pays homage to the old while celebrating the new. We should call it "Heart Linkletter" (cue the bubble machine and studio orchestra)

So here's my blog and facebook entries for November and December:

The adventure continues. Mom and Dad are spending another night of below freezing temperatures at home without power.

    • Liz G Owens What's up with these independent seniors these days? Seriously, are they okay? Do they still have a fireplace? Didn't it get built over when they remodeled?

Crying with my dad while driving him to dialysis. Now he's alone in there and it breaks my heart. Rest in love uncle Maake. Sad u r gone but soo very grateful for the church & our Plan of Salvation. God be with you til we meet again ♥

Liz G Owens ‘Oiauē! I am so sorry for your loss. Please tell everyone who came last Sunday to sing in the Tongan choir - mālō ‘aupito. I felt so bad that your uncle was in the hospital but had no idea he wouldn't be with us much longer. I think he was there in spirit helping me conduct.

I find this both funny and profound. I mean, dyslexia aside, haven't we all been guilty of this responsibility shuffle game more than we care to admit?

Five years ago today I came home from Buenos Aires, leaving behind a world full of mission memories, and amazing new friends, and returning to my wonderful family and fiancee, who is the best husband anyone could ask for. My how much has happened in those five years!

  • 2 people like this.

    • Erik Whitehill roughly translated, "This has been an amazing year... but right now, I am so full from New Year's Eve cookies that my blood sugar level is off the charts."

    • Liz G Owens ‎"Have you ever tried typing stuff with your hand shifted one key to the right?" Well - I filled in a couple missing letters but I think that's what you were trying to say. The fact that I spent almost 20 minutes on New Years Eve decoding this has already assured me the "most pathetically boring person ever" title. It will be nice to hold the "coolest person ever" title for a while. Does it come with a tiara?

I have a very deep love for Lemony Snicket and all his books. Just thought you should know.

    • Liz G Owens I think Lemony Snicket is solely responsible for mainstreaming the word "ersatz"
