US State FIPS codes

Very common issue in applied work is translating US state-level data between state names, postal abbreviations and FIPS codes. Possible to add or is it beyond the scope of countrycode?

We already support 2-letter abbrevation and long form names (+ regex). Would be happy to merge new columns into that custom conversion dictionary if you or someone else contributes.
