Changing styles for selected values in list

Update: I figured it out - consider this my rubber duck 😅 Is there a way to change the background colors of the selected values in a list? I've looked through the docs and tried a bunch of different things but still am not able to successfully change the styles of the ul or li in the version of the value listbox/Select/dropdown
