Reader cmsaf-claas2_l2_nc does it work for ClASS 3 products

Hello Satpy team,

I am working with CLAAS-3 Level-2 Cloud Physical Properties products (CPP v6, product_version 3.0).
The files have variable_ids: cwp, cot, cre, cdnc, cgt, cph, and metadata clearly states:

CM SAF Cloud property dataset using SEVIRI (CLAAS), edition 3

I attempted to load them with:

Scene(reader="cmsaf-claas2_l2_nc", filenames=[...])

Before proceeding, I would like to confirm:

Does Satpy provide an official reader for CLAAS-3 L2 products?
If not, is CLAAS-3 support planned or is the CLAAS-2 reader expected to work?

My understanding is that CLAAS-3 differs structurally from CLAAS-2 and uses SEVIRI image coordinates with external lat/lon lookup tables.

Any clarification would be very helpful.

Are you using a recent version of satpy? This should have been fixed since June 2025.

version is 0.59.0 latest one, I just needed to be sure it is reading things as it suppose to, thank you , may be the documentation side could be improved later on.

If you have suggestions for documentation updates then please post them here or even better it'd be great if you could make a pull request with the exact changes that would have helped you.
