I purchase a Github Copilot Pro+ Licence to try Spark
I can open the Spark prompting interface on https://github.com/spark
When a send a prompt , I have got a black screen as result with this message : Looks like something wrong.
I use Microsoft Edge as browser
Anyone already have this problem ?

Right now it appears to be a server‑side or UI rendering error in the Spark interface itself — not something you can fix from your browser settings. The fact that it shows a blank area with a generic error suggests:

An internal error in the Spark service is preventing the prompt handler from completing.

The UI tries to render the result but ends up with a blank or black area instead.

It is not specific to the Edge browser (others report the same issue).

check again, i was able to visit spark, click the three dot right of the spark

But prompting generate always an error

Maybe report it as a bug via support, that's what I did. It was working 2 days ago.

FYI Spark stopped working for me too. It doesn't work on new or existing projects. Here is the error I get in the network tab: "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'canEdit')". I work on Mac, and I tried both Chrome and Safari. There is nothing on githubstatus about it

Maybe they can give us an extra month's worth of Spark and Copilot premium points :P (status is the first thing we check, I think - and it is weird that all is in green when obviously it's not lol)

My payment for one year of this went just fine :-) Joking aside, 1 week in, dozens of hours put into to prototyping and feeling thrilled with the results, then bricked. Not knowing how long to wait for it, or if it will come back is a lonely feeling. Plus, I have work to get done. Any recommendations for another prototype builder from the community?

Potential Fixes for Spark "Black Screen" / "Something went wrong"

I’ve seen several users encounter this specific rendering issue on Microsoft Edge. Since Spark uses a specialized iframe to render live previews, it often conflicts with browser-level hardware settings or extensions. Here are a few things that usually resolve it:

1. Disable Hardware Acceleration (Most Common Fix)
Edge’s hardware acceleration sometimes fails to initialize the Spark canvas.
Go to Settings (edge://settings/system).
Toggle OFF "Use hardware acceleration when available."
Restart the browser and try prompting again.

2. Clear the Shader Cache
If the screen is black but you can still "type," it’s often a GPU cache issue.
Close Edge.
Open the Run dialog (Win + R), paste this path: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\ShaderCache, and press Enter.
Delete the contents of the GPUCache folder.
Relaunch and check github.com/spark.

3. Test in "InPrivate" Mode (Extension Conflict)
Many ad-blockers or "Dark Mode" extensions (like Dark Reader) inject CSS that breaks the Spark preview window.
Open a new InPrivate window (Ctrl + Shift + N).
If Spark works here, go back to your main window and disable your extensions one by one to find the culprit.

4. Check for Console/Network Errors
If the error persists, it might be a backend provisioning issue with your Copilot Pro+ seat.
Press F12 to open Developer Tools.
