Get project-item-id from issue number or issue id, preferrably over rest api

I need to get a project field value of an issue. Is there a way to get from issue number to projectitem?

The rest api has /orgs/{org}/projectsV2/{project_number}/items/{item_id} but i dont know the item_id, as that is different from the issue_id.

Even iterating over the project ( /orgs/ORG/projectsV2/PROJECT_NUMBER/items) seems not possible for non-public projects?

Graphql seems much simpler...
