{{ site }} or {{ page }} produce error : #Locomotive::Liquid::Drops::Page:0x000000070a6200

I looked in engine/lib/liquid, i did not see code for the drops?

I am clear now u must add an attribute to the global variables i.e. ((site.name}} or {{page.slug}}

should we add this to the documentation, that some of the global variable need other attributes to work properly. {{ now }} works alone, but {{ page }} does not

where is the drops code located that makes all this "magic happen" i.e.. {{ site.name }} ? I want take a look at that first

sure. Go to the lib/locomotive/liquid/drops/ folder. It contains all drops which acts as a proxy between the Liquid view and the model (site, page, ...etc).
Does it make sense ?

i went in there i could not find the ruby file related to the global variables though? which file? How does {{ now }} work?

Actually, the magic is all in Liquid. You have to dig into the Liquid code to see how it works.

yummy, thx. I just think we need to change the documentation, I see nothing useful in {{ page }} by itself, except for a use case where it spit out a key-value pair as an array for someone who was building/displaying some admin functionality.

you're right. Let's put a warning for the page and site objects.

For instance, for the site object, something like: "can not be used by itself. Please refer to the properties of the site (http://doc.locomotivecms.com/templates/objects#site-section)".
