Copy/paste file name with shortcut

Issue
The copy and paste shortcut does not work for filenames, because pressing Ctrl exits the rename box.

Steps to reproduce
Press F2 or right click and rename a file.
Press Ctrl+c or Ctrl+v.

Expected behaviour
It should be copying and pasting the name, as I'm in the rename box, rather than copying the whole file.

5.6.4 too, I'm not sure if it has been updated, but now the problem seems to be solved, can this issue be closed?

Edit, it hasn't been solved, it just works for some folders and not others. I cannot understand how this is possible, there is no bug in the terminal related to this.

No, it's a pretty standard Mint installation, I've added a few programs, but it's almost untouched. It only seems to happen on the btrfs formatted harddrive, not the main ssd. It also crashed a couple of times while I was trying to understand why only some folders had this problem with a core dump, but I don't know how to give it to you. For now, I'm using nemo running from the command line, so I should be able to see if there's anything obvious. So far, nothing. Another thing I tried was to install a clipboard manager, but that did not change anything.

In Mint you can open the System Reports app, select 'Crash Reports' and select the nemo entry (top-most is fine if there are more than one), then click "Local Files" once it's done processing, and attach the crash.tar.gz file.

I'm sorry, but it's not in System Reports app, only in logs. Does it means I have no crash file?
Ps. sorry it's not cropped well, I couldn't preview the image in github before sending, but the reports says "No problems found"

the crash is still there, why is this closed? is it magically fixed now?

Doesn't crash or fail in LMDE7 (nemo 6.6.3), just works as expected.
