nemo: when invoked from terminal and that has been closed, folder's "Open in terminal" doesn't work

Issue
When, from a terminal (e.g. gnome-terminal) I invoke e.g. nemo . & exit (as the first instance of nemo) then the "Open in terminal" context menu option of folders doesn't work (simply nothing happens).

It does however work, when I (initially) invoked nemo from the "Start-Menu", or when I invoked it from a terminal via nemo . (job still in the foreground) or nemo . & (job in the background, but the invoking terminal/shell still open.

Any ideas?

The issue still persists in 6.6.7, but I can't reopen (permissions).

Also I do not quite understand why it was closed in the first place... was there any reason to assume that this might have been fixed meanwhile? Any commit or whatsoever that touched this area?
