Left over [remote ...] entries in .git/config when previewing a PR to upstream #1753

@jcansdale

Description

@jcansdale

Empty [remote ...] entries are left in a users .git/config file if they preview a PR to the upstream repository (if a remote for upstream doesn't already exist).

  1. Clone a fork repository
  2. Show PR list from upstream repository (which is the default)
  3. View a PR and preview a PR file
  4. Open .git/config file

What happens:

An empty [remote ...] element similar to the following appears in the config file:

[remote "jaredpar-8141ae63-26ec-4082-a75a-6cbe223bc357"]
[remote "jaredpar-3c0cb23a-068d-4386-9904-1a4ed48d2f96"]
[remote "jaredpar-9b39068d-6740-4bd3-8eff-2d6a1b01877f"]
