A quick run up and down the road in the dark in front of the hotel before heading out for the trans-Atlantic flight. 3.1 miles.
On the flight across the pond I checked out “Star Trek: Into Darkness” (okay, but the Trekkie in me still was sucked in), “Oblivion” (better than I thought it was going to be but glad I caught it for free on a plane) and “42” (excellent – and Harrison Ford almost stole the damn thing). Also checked out a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones. Not overly thrilled with that. I think I am enjoying the books more simply because I think reading about someone getting their throat cut is one thing. Seeing it on a TV show, even when I know it is not real is another. That and they have the characters developed all wrong on the show.
Broomfield XC invite tomorrow. Oh yeah, I will be camped there all day and working the chutes in the afternoon.
I have gotten to the point that I actually like the show. Thankfully they have killed off enough characters that I am not looking at Melissa every five minutes and asking, "who the F is this?"
ReplyDeleteYeah, I caught like season three episode 6. If I had not read the books it would have been like trying to pick up a soap opera in the middle of it all. There are so many characters in the books - even more than what I saw in the show. I have to often refer to the back glossary of characters to cross check who the heck is who.
DeleteI am always impressed by your commitment to do things like run 3.1 miles out and back on a dark rainy street in front of the hotel before an all day flight, or putting in miles in an airport terminal (especially post 9/11), where most people, especially myself would just take that as a day off.
ReplyDeleteListening to the latest EP podcast with Tawnee and Phil and apparently this is not a healthy behavior on my part.
DeleteThe in the airport run was stupid though.
