What's inside VEJA Etna sandal? The Etna's insole is made with 57% bio-based E.V.A., including 41% derived from sugarcane. While most brands rely solely on petroleum-based materials, VEJA chooses more responsible alternatives. The outsole contains 40% Amazonian rubber, harvested in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. VEJA uses traditional extraction methods that allow the trees to regenerate naturally. The straps' suede is tanned in Brazil without any toxic or prohibited chemicals. The VEJA Store in São Paulo has been recognized at the DNA Paris Design Awards 2026, which celebrate outstanding work across architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, product design, and graphic design. Located on Rua Oscar Freire, in the Jardim Paulista neighborhood, we transformed an existing building into our first retail space in Brazil. Designed by Roberto Somlo, together with Laura Rosenbusch and Greg Rosenbusch, the space creates a dialogue between the site’s history and Brazilian modernism. The project reflects a vision shared by the architect and VEJA: working with what already exists, minimizing resources, embracing transparency, and staying true to the materials. Congratulations to the entire design team on this achievement. Visit the VEJA Store São Paulo at Rua Oscar Freire, 565, Jardim Paulista.

A special evening at the Metrograph, one of New York's leading independent cinemas. For the first time in the United States, we screened Far From The Spotlight, the film directed by Jérémie Battaglia and co-produced by VEJA and La Blogothèque. The film tells the stories of an organic cotton producer, a rubber tapper in the Amazon rainforest, a recycling cooperative leader and a factory worker, each connected to VEJA in a different way. For two years, the team travelled across Brazil to meet them. To show who they are. To listen to them. Through their stories, the film celebrates the women and men who cultivate, collect, produce, manufacture, and transform the materials that give life to our sneakers. After the screening, we were joined by Kareem Rahma, creator of Subway Takes and Keep the Meter Running, who hosted the discussion. We talked for a long time about Brazil, production, sourcing, and the stories behind VEJA. Twenty years after VEJA started, the need to understand where things come from, who makes them, and how they are made is still as relevant as ever. At the end of the evening, one thing remained: a need for more reality. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
