We were delighted to contribute to the 2026 Grands Prix de l'Académie des technologies, dedicated this year to marine ecosystems and maritime innovation, with Prisca Jauffrineau serving as a jury member throughout the entire selection process and taking part in the awards ceremony roundtable on "Innovations et partenariats pour un océan durable."   The discussion highlighted the tremendous potential of research, innovation and partnerships to address ocean challenges, while also emphasizing the importance of pairing innovation with a clear impact framework—one that enables solutions to scale in a thoughtful, structured and purposeful way.   As investors focused on ocean biodiversity, it was inspiring to discover such a strong group of entrepreneurs tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing our oceans and maritime industries. 🌊SWEN Blue Ocean invests in Syntetica, a pioneer in complex textile recycling We're delighted to announce our participation in Syntetica's 30M USD fundraising round, alongside Bpifrance (lead investor), lululemon, EQT Ventures, and the Peugeot family office. 🔬 Syntetica has developed a unique selective depolymerization technology, capable of recycling Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6 from mixed textile waste streams — while preserving other fibers (cotton, polyester). This creates a major breakthrough, as separating these two types of nylon from mixed textiles has been one of the main obstacles to textile recycling at scale. 🌍 Why it matters: the textile industry releases around 8 million tonnes of plastic waste into the environment every year through synthetic fibers, directly contributing to ocean pollution and the spread of microfibers in marine ecosystems. 🏭 The funds raised will finance the construction of Syntetica's first commercial demonstration plant, in partnership with Michelin's Sustainable Materials Center in Clermont-Ferrand. 🌊 SWEN Blue Ocean publishes its 2025 Impact Report!   Founded with a clear ambition to foster ocean biodiversity regeneration through innovation, SWEN Blue Ocean continues to support pioneering companies addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing our ocean.   As the fund has now completed its deployment phase, the impact generated across the portfolio continues to grow, driven by the development and scaling of its portfolio companies.   Highlights of the year include our collaboration with WSENSE to strengthen its product development methodology, the successful exit from OptoScale, demonstrating that impact and financial performance can go hand in hand, as well as our contribution to the Ocean Impact Navigator Advisory Board and our support for 1000 Ocean Startups at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice.   In a changing world, the ocean remains a unifying force. 🌱 Regenerative agriculture has proven its value. The real challenge today is scaling it up.   “We are absolutely convinced that the model which has been used in the renewable energy sector can also work in agriculture.” — Emmanuel Simon, Managing Director, SWEN Terra strategy   Healthier soils, enhanced biodiversity, greater resilience to climate-related challenges and reduced reliance on external inputs: the benefits of regenerative agriculture are now widely recognized.   The question is no longer whether regenerative agriculture works, but rather how to finance and scale the transition effectively.
