For the past eight months we've been running a large eCommerce transformation for a client using AI coding agents across the delivery team...not as an experiment, but as the primary way the software got built. We took it on partly to see what would actually happen when AI agents sat inside a live delivery project, not a pilot. The honest answer: the code got fast almost immediately. Once the team had learned the tools, output roughly tripled. What we didn't expect was that this would become a problem. The team was finishing work faster than the business could approve it. Client sign-off moved from every couple of weeks to every 48 hours, because work was piling up waiting for approval. And one business analyst, who had always managed to keep the developers supplied with clear requirements, suddenly couldn't. Developers were building three times faster than one person could write specs and answer questions. Work started queuing up on the human side instead of the technical side. None of that is a coding problem. It's a project problem. Who reviews the work, who signs it off, and how quickly can the client respond? Looking back, five things changed about how we ran delivery. But the five things that mattered most didn't change at all: clear scope, experienced people, strong governance, quality standards, a client who stays closely involved. If anything, AI made all five more important, not less. When a team can build three times faster, a vague brief or a slow decision costs you three times as much. Dentro de Jira Cloud hay un motor de automatización que viene de serie, sin coste de licencia adicional: Jira Automation. Le dejas configurada una regla: se queda escuchando lo que pasa en tu proyecto y actúa sola en el momento justo. Y toda regla, por compleja que parezca, se reduce a tres bloques: un cuándo, un si y un entonces. Cuando ocurre X (se crea un ticket, cambia un estado, llega una hora programada), si se cumple Y (la prioridad, el equipo, un campo vacío), entonces haz Z (asigna, etiqueta, avisa en Teams). Si el si no se cumple, la regla se para y no hace nada. Sin escribir una línea de código. Lo que marca la diferencia es el criterio: saber qué tarea le cabe a una regla y cuál pide más ingeniería. Esta serie empezó por el trabajo repetido que nadie mide.
