Big news from the #NcodiN team 🚀 Today we are proud to announce that co-founder Fabrice Raineri is officially stepping into the role of Chief Technology Officer, transitioning full-time from the Chief Scientific Officer position he has held since the company's ignition. Fabrice is the pioneer behind NcodiN's core technology. He started the research on InP-on-silicon nanolasers nearly two decades ago at CNRS C2N - Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies, and has spent his career turning a fundamental physics idea into something the world had never seen before. The culmination was his landmark 2017 Nature Photonics paper: the first demonstration of an electrically driven InP nanolaser heterogeneously integrated on a silicon photonic circuit and operating at room temperature. A footprint below 100µm², a current threshold under 100µA, and a wall-plug efficiency above 10% — numbers that opened a new design space for photonic integration, and that nearly ten years later remain a key reference point for the field. That breakthrough is the starting block we have built on at NcodiN to deliver the smallest, most efficient directly modulated nanolaser on silicon, and the technological foundation of #NConnect — our on-interposer optical interconnect platform. In his new role, Fabrice will lead and strengthen NcodiN's R&D operations as the company executes one of the most ambitious technical roadmaps in optical I/O, from industrialization on a CMOS pilot line with CEA-Leti, to the next generation of products our partners are already asking for. With Fabrice fully dedicated as #CTO, we double down on what makes NcodiN nanolasers technically unique: ultra-high bandwidth density, power efficiency and CMOS compatibility.
