🌱 Protecting soils: from regulation to real farming solutions Kazakhstan’s new soil protection framework highlights a growing concern in agriculture: how to preserve soil fertility while keeping farms productive and resilient. The law addresses soil monitoring, agrochemical analysis, degradation prevention and restoration of damaged land, showing that soil health is becoming a matter of public policy. This evolution raises an important point: protecting soils cannot be only about obligations. It must also be about giving farmers practical tools to act. Crop diversification, cover crops, adapted rotations, resilient genetics and agronomic support can help turn soil preservation into concrete farming practices. For MAS Seeds, this is where seed companies have a role to play: supporting cropping systems that combine productivity, resilience and long-term soil fertility. 🤖 AI in plant breeding: what does it really change? In maize breeding, breeders work with thousands of possible genetic combinations. AI helps us go one step further: using historical trial data and genomic markers to predict the potential of new varieties before they are fully evaluated in the field. At MAS Seeds, predictive models can support early decisions on key traits such as yield, maturity, disease resistance, plant morphology or silage value. We also use AI to analyse drone images, turning field visuals into data that breeders can use to characterize new varieties more precisely. But one point remains essential: AI does not replace field trials or breeder expertise. Its role is to help prioritize the most promising genetic material earlier, reduce unnecessary testing and focus efforts where the potential is highest. In breeding, AI is not the decision-maker. 🔥 Over the past few days, wildfires of exceptional scale have affected several regions across Europe, including south-west France, where our headquarter is located in the Landes region, as well as Spain and Italy. We want to start by warmly thanking our customers, our partners, and the broader agricultural community for their outstanding mobilization alongside emergency services: providing water tanks and machinery, transporting water, protecting fields, and offering manpower. This spontaneous solidarity reflects the strength of our rural communities, wherever we are. Our thoughts also go out to everyone directly or indirectly affected by these fires, as well as to the firefighters and emergency teams working tirelessly on the ground. MAS Seeds' activity continues as normal across all our sites. The severity of these events is a reminder, once again, of the urgent need to act on climate change. Our annual Safety Day brought all employees from France together around a shared objective: strengthening our safety culture and reinforcing our collective commitment to a safer workplace for everyone. Throughout the day, teams participated in four workshops focused on key health and safety topics: ✅ Psychosocial risk prevention, with a focus on change management and emotional intelligence ✅ Essential first aid actions for choking incidents and severe bleeding ✅ Sun exposure risks, including prevention, protection and hydration practices ✅ Addiction awareness, prevention measures and available support resources A big thank you to all participants, speakers and organizers who contributed to the success of this day. Together, we continue to build a workplace culture based on care, responsibility and continuous improvement.

It is also about the way we work across the whole seed value chain.
