Some conferences stay with you because of the science. Others stay with you because of the people. IEEE ARM 2026 gave me both. After months of invitations, programme discussions, logistics and last-minute problem-solving, it was deeply rewarding to see the conference come to life at Université Évry Paris-Saclay. Serving on the Organizing Committee was a real privilege — and seeing our lecture halls and demo spaces filled with researchers, students, old friends and new collaborations made every effort worthwhile. IEEE Robotics and Automation Society; IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS); IEEE Telepresence One moment was especially close to my heart: welcoming Prof. Elena De Momi (Politecnico di Milano), my PhD supervisor, to Paris. Elena helped shape not only the way I approach research, but also the kind of colleague and mentor I hope to be. Listening to her speak about shared autonomy in surgery, this time at a conference we were hosting, felt like a beautiful full-circle moment. Thank you, Elena, for continuing to inspire and guide us well beyond PhD years. We were equally honoured to welcome Prof. Tianyou Chai (Northeastern University), Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. His talk on intelligent integrated systems and end–edge–cloud collaboration. Prof. Gordon Cheng (Technical University of Munich) made embodied multi-intelligences feel both ambitious and tangible. Prof. Antonio Bicchi (Italian Institute of Technology) offered a compelling vision of human–robot integration and of technology becoming a meaningful extension of human intention. Prof. Jing Xiao (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) showed why adaptation is essential when robots must perceive, plan and act in unknown and uncertain environments. Prof. Xiaobo Tan (Michigan State University) took us beneath the surface, where autonomy must remain reliable even when localisation itself is uncertain. Prof. Yong Liu (Zhejiang University) broaden the conversation — from embodied intelligence to generative approaches. What made these days memorable, however, was not only what happened on stage. It was also the generosity of everyone who travelled to Paris, shared their work, asked thoughtful questions, encouraged young researchers and created new connections in the hallways, demonstrations and dinners. A very personal thank-you to Prof. SAMER ALFAYAD and Prof. Naima AITOUFROUKH-MAMMAR, who carried so many details with calm, energy and good humour. I am also sincerely grateful to every member of the Organizing and Local Committees. To all my colleagues at the Laboratoire IBISC, Université d’Evry, Université Paris-Saclay，Université Paris-Saclay, our administrative and technical staff, our volunteers, and especially our PhD students: this conference would not have happened without you.
