AMR is already a health security crisis—not a distant threat. At AUROBAC, we are proud to support this call from BEAM Alliance and more than 50 organizations urging France to make antimicrobial resistance a priority during its G7 France Presidency in 2026. As highlighted by our CEO, Florence Sejourne, innovation against drug-resistant infections is urgently needed, but innovation alone is not enough. We need policies that reward innovation, accelerate patient access, and strengthen global preparedness. Read Florence Séjourné's post below and the full call-to-action published in Le Monde here: https://lnkd.in/eCX-4Us6 #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #HealthSecurity #G7 #France2026 #Innovation #PublicHealth #BEAMAlliance
AMR is a health security crisis. G7 France's Presidency must turn political commitment into action! As France assumes the G7 Presidency in 2026, it has a unique opportunity to strengthen global health security and lead the fight against antimicrobial resistance. AMR is not a future threat, it is already impacting patients, healthcare systems and economies. It jeopardises the foundations of modern medicine, including cancer care, transplantation, intensive care and routine surgery. BEAM Alliance, together with more than 50 co-signatories, is calling for urgent and decisive action to: ▪️ Recognise AMR as a critical health security challenge. ▪️ Build a sustainable access and innovation model that supports the development of new antimicrobials and diagnostics. ▪️ Protect vulnerable patients by integrating AMR preparedness into care pathways. ▪️ Strengthen international collaboration, surveillance and political leadership on AMR. Innovation is essential to staying ahead of resistance, yet the pipeline for novel antimicrobials remains dangerously limited. France now has an opportunity to demonstrate leadership by supporting policies that reward innovation, secure patient access and strengthen European and global preparedness. The threat is already here. The time for collective and decisive action is now. 🔗 Read the full call-to-action in Le Monde here: https://lnkd.in/eCX-4Us6? 📝 Read the full list of signatories here: https://lnkd.in/eqzM8bac #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #HealthSecurity #G7 #France2026 #OneHealth #Innovation #PublicHealth #BEAMAlliance

As a member of the BEAM Alliance, AUROBAC strongly supports the call to recognize antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as more than a healthcare challenge. AMR is increasingly a matter of health security, industrial resilience, and strategic sovereignty for Europe. The erosion of antimicrobial manufacturing capacity, growing supply chain dependencies, and the continued lack of sustainable incentives for innovation pose significant risks to Europe's preparedness and competitiveness. Addressing AMR requires coordinated action across health, industry, research, and security policies. Integrating AMR and biodefence into the European Competitiveness Fund and related initiatives would be an important step toward safeguarding critical capabilities and strengthening Europe's resilience. We encourage stakeholders across the ecosystem to engage with the recommendations outlined in the BEAM Alliance white paper. Read the full white paper: https://lnkd.in/eZFQNmFU #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #Biodefence #HealthSecurity #EU #Biotech #Innovation #AMRInnovation
Antimicrobial resistance is a security issue, an industrial policy issue and increasingly, a sovereignty issue. Right now, Europe is treating antimicrobial resistance as 'just' a healthcare issue. The warning is clear: ▪️ Europe has almost no manufacturing capacity for antimicrobials left ▪️ The supply chain dependence is growing ▪️ Antimicrobial innovation remains commercially broken ▪️ Resistant pathogens are accelerating in conflict settings The message is simple: Europe cannot afford to lose the capabilities it still has. AMR is no longer only a public health challenge. It is becoming a defining test of Europe’s resilience, preparedness and competitiveness. Therefore, it would make total sense to integrate AMR and biodefence into the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) and other related initiatives. A strong and timely message from the BEAM Alliance. Antimicrobial resistance (#AMR) must now be recognized as a strategic challenge at the crossroads of health, defense, industrial resilience, and competitiveness. Supporting European biotech SMEs, securing and scaling EU-based manufacturing, and mobilizing private capital are essential to rebuilding a robust and sustainable antimicrobial ecosystem in Europe. AUROBAC THERAPEUTICS is proud to contribute to this collective effort, alongside partners committed to strengthening Europe’s preparedness and sovereignty in the face of current and future health and security threats.
Antimicrobial resistance (#AMR) is no longer just a health issue — it is a strategic security challenge for Europe. The war in Ukraine has made this reality impossible to ignore. The emergence and spread of multidrug-resistant pathogens in conflict settings are putting both military and civilian healthcare systems under pressure. In a new paper, we argue that: 🔹 AMR sits at the intersection of health, defence and competitiveness 🔹 Europe is at risk of losing its remaining antimicrobial manufacturing capacity 🔹 The current R&D ecosystem is failing to deliver the next generation of treatments This is why we call for a biodefence pillar within the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), with: ✔️ Targeted investment in antimicrobial R&D ✔️ Support to preserve and scale EU-based manufacturing ✔️ Financial instruments to crowd-in private capital ✔️ Accessibility for SMEs driving biotech innovation Without decisive action, Europe risks increased dependency and reduced preparedness for future crises. 📄 Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/eJpSJYdx #Biodefence #HealthSecurity #EUCompetitiveness #Innovation #Biotech
