delMountedDevices(1) delMountedDevices manual delMountedDevices(1) NAME delMountedDevices - delete registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices SYNOPSIS delMountedDevices DESCRIPTION delMountedDevices is a very, very small tool to delete the Windows registry key \SYSTEM\MountedDevices in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE with just one simple call. Windows saves the "partition to drive letter" mappings in this registry key. So, when Windows is booting next time, it will redo all those mappings, because the MountedDevices key is missing. This might be helpful with disk imaging systems. NOTES Well, yes, in fact it's not worth it, to write a whole C program for such a minimal job. Today's scripting systems/languages do suffice - definitely, but I needed such a functionality and while I was busy with other C projects, writing it in C was just ... obvious ;-) delMountedDevices should work on Windows NT/2000/XP and above.
