What would summer be without our summer interns? ☀️🔬 Kai Ogura and Urho Koljonen started their internships at Kyocera Technologies at the end of May, so they have gradually adjusted to their new daily life at Kyocera Technologies. They say that working in the semiconductor industry offers new challenges and possibilities to learn new things every day. And no wonder, since they've jumped right into their work, both with their own duties. Kai is a Test Engineer Trainee and is spending his first summer at Kyocera Technologies. Urho is also a Test Engineer Trainee. He has worked at Kyocera Technologies for several previous summers and has gained experience in AOI and testing. Meet Iikka Makkonen, our Test Development Engineer and a Master’s student in Photonics and Nanotechnology at Aalto University! 🔬 Iikka first joined Kyocera as a thesis worker, developing a testing setup for MEMS resonators – tiny signal references that are essential for the functioning of the digital world. This project quickly became an integral part of the engineering workflow. Today, Iikka maintains and develops advanced testing systems while contributing to new development projects. His work helps transform precision engineering into reliable, real-world technologies. For Iikka, the most important thing at work is being in an environment that supports him and enables him to maintain an open mind. Being able to see things from another perspective and solve problems is important. After all, that's what research and development is all about. “There’s always something new to discover and solve.
