On the morning of April 15, 2012 Craig Washington answered one of the hardest phone calls of his life. His best friend and fellow performer, Travis Veada, had passed away after a long fight with meningitis. A few hours later Washington was up on stage with the SUNY New Paltz hip-hop dance troupe, Culture Shock, giving what he would describe as one of the most full-out performances of his life.
Not performing wasn’t an option.
