Summary: Jim and Blair are requested by the Feds to investigate a strange death on an unpopulated island near Hawaii. One reason for the request is a connection to their case with the mutant spiders in the episode "Smart Alec". But the other is that Darien and Bobby know Jim and Blair from another case involving Arnaud, when the men learned each other's secrets.

But there's something disturbing about what little information is available during their briefing. It makes Blair speculate about it being a real-life Island of Doctor Moreau. Unfortunately, when they arrive, they find few clues and a lot of menace.

Reccer's Notes: I thought I'd read everything of Gil's but I missed this one until recently. It's a sequel of sorts to "Arnaud You Don't", which you can find on her page, but it's not necessary to read it first. Enjoy.

Summary: The three pairs are ordered to attend an experimental program designed to help law enforcement groups develop better partnerships. They, along with a whole lot of other two-man teams, head off to a Canadian island to be taught a lot of New-Age, encounter-type exercises that serve only to make their eyes roll and increase their annoyance.

The six end up together at a table together and eventually find common ground to break the ice: most of them enjoy fishing. After an enjoyable lunch, they are finishing up with coffee when the unexpected happens: Jim realizes that there are drugs in the coffee; specifically sodium pentothol. With the chance that many attendees might have classified information, the conference which seemed to be a frivolous waste of time has just turned ominous.

Reccer's Notes: The story is long enough that every character gets a chance to shine. I think the author infused the story with a permanent smirk. Enjoy
