Kickstarter

Kickstarter is a site where artists/ designers/ makers can make a bid for funds to kickstart their business. You make your proposal and invite funds. In return for funding you have to offer something in return. Plain and simple and it seems successful for some.

Information on this site can not only be part of your database for Professional Practice next year but more importantly can be useful.

The above image is of a rain boot design by Jessica Swift who describes herself as a surface pattern designer, painter and illustrator. She wants to go into production making a range of these boots each with their own hidden message. She has backers to the sum of $12000 and needs another $6000. See if she makes it.

Volunteers

Radiator Arts are organising three workshops as part of the Battle Arts Trail. One will be in Claverham Community College ( 11-16yrs) on the 6th, 7th and 8th July and, on the same days, there will be workshops at Battle and Langton School Primary School. There will be a third workshop at Netherfield Primary School early in September.

They will be able to use some help in assisting students realising the artworks which will form part of the trial whether birds made from books or illuminated withy structures which will be placed along the High Street.

This is a really good opportunity to see some community arts projects in action, work alongside artists and generally participate in this ambitious event.

Email me if you're interested.
