Building a card around Eyelet Outlet Brads and a favorite quote is a great way to make fresh, personal cards for friends and family. This card has a base of Book Washi matted with Wood Tape; and helping set the scene for a cozy day of reading, this sweet bear is surrounded by Book Brads; a cute potted Cactus; the tissues from our TP and Tissue Set; a Heart Brad; the Sun and Cloud Set; even a Mini Ladybug has joined the fun.

The green panel is 4" x 5 1/4". I cut two orange strips of paper at 1 1/2" each and place a strip of Cactus Washi Tape in the middle of each. I glued them at an angle and trimmed off the excess orange paper on each side. Then I cut the blue starburst and the yellow circle. I glued my blue llama on the circle and then put a Cocktail Brad on his back and three green Pearl Bling. I adhered the llama piece on to the green panel and then inserted Piñata Brads and Cactus Brads in the corners. I mounted the green panel on a slightly larger orange panel and put both on a white A2 card base. I wrapped a white and orange baker's twine around the folded edge of the card and tied a bow. Last, I stamped and cut the birthday sentiment strip and glued it to the top orange and washi tape strip.
Hello friends! It may be October but here in the southern states, it's just the beginning of fall. The temps are still nice and warm and perfect for relaxing on the porch. It's a perfect time of year to be lazy and maybe even sneak in a little nap. That's what this gentleman is taking advantage of. He's got a cocktail and some wine, a stack of books, and is surrounded by plants including cacti in pots. He's got a hat covering his eyes while chilling out in a hammock. He appears to be enjoying life!
It's a lot of fun to use stamps in my stash to create scenes like this one. EO's brads always add a touch that just can't be gotten any other way. There's nothing like colorful EO embellishments to make a card unusual and unexpected.
Apparently, there are a few people in the world who think that some of us have too many books?! This is an understandable error, but in fact, as Mr. Bear points out, the actual problem is NOT ENOUGH SHELVES! For this card, the shelves were created by neatly lining up strips of Eyelet Outlet Book Tape. The computer generated sentiment (created with a free font called Bohemian Typewriter) leaves room for a trio of Book Brads and is matted on a panel of Wood Tape; Cactus and Heart Brads add extra texture and interest to this cozy little scene.

Who doesn't love a pinwheel?
I sure do. They remind me of my childhood, playing out in the front yard, running as fast as I could and watching the wind spin the colorful pinwheel I had in my hand. With the weather warming up, I've been seeing pinwheels all over the place, which is what inspired me to create these five unique pinwheel themed cards. The best part about them is the fact that each pinwheel was made using washi tape instead of cardstock.
The next card was created using two different washi tapes to make the pinwheels, the Ocean Washi Tape and the Succulent Washi Tape each layered on each other. The corners are embellished with Green Jewel Bling and in the center of the pinwheel and close to the sentiment, are two Cactus Brads.
This next card just makes me smile looking at it. I love the colors I selected for the pinwheel which were the Flowers and Feather Washi Tape along with the Dark Blue Glitter Washi Tape. I embellished the card with multiple Blue Bumpy Bling, two Bumpy Bling Hearts, multiple Yellow Enamel Dots and right in the center of the pinwheel is a Bright Yellow Balloon Brad. Just makes me smile.
The fourth card I created, I used the Tulip Washi Tape along with the Glitter Chevron Washi Tape and added the large Stippled Jewel Brad in the center of the pinwheel. The pinwheel and the sentiment are outlined with Yellow Jewel Bling while the corners of the card have Blue Bumpy Bling and Yellow Jewel Bling.
Thanks to a huge selection of wash tapes and bling from Eyelet Outlet, I was able to create these five cards in a few hours and now I have them on hand just waiting for the perfect occasion to send. I hope these inspired you to go create some pinwheel cards of your own.
