I don't think books should be banned. I think they should be age appropriate (I.E. Don't have 50 shades of grey in schools), but I think it's up to the parents and not schools to dictate what their kids can or can't read.

Mid Year Freak Out 2024

Best book you've read so far in 2024?
How can I pick just one!? Here is my top 5

Best sequel you've read so far in 2024?
Both of these series I read the first one of last year (Same day I think!) and I read the second and third this year and love them all.

New release you haven't read yet, but want to?
These are some that I'm surprised/disappointed I haven't gotten to yet this year, hopefully I can before the end of the year.

Most anticipated release for the second half of 2024?
I just posted this in my top ten tuesday, but just in case you didn't see it, here are 10 books I cannot wait to read this year.

Biggest disappointment?
I have quite a few... These two are two of my favorite authors and the books just fell flat, I've had a couple 5 star reads, but mostly 4 star reads from both of them, however these books just meh. I was super disappointed. I did rate them a 3, so not terrible. Just not how they usually are.

And these ones I gave super low ratings to and really thought I'd like them.

Biggest surprise?
Both of these authors are super hit or miss with me, but I absolutely loved both and ended up giving them 5 stars.

These ones I was surprised because I don't usually like romance, but I also gave them 5 stars.

New favorite author?
That's hard, because I've read a lot of really great new authors..
Ali Hazelwood, Mary Kubica, Jenny Lawson, I've read a ton of Vincent Ralph and Mindy McGinnis this year, I've always liked them but it seems like this is the year I've LOVED them..

Newest fictional crush?
Gonna go with Adam from The Love Hypothesis. I also have a major crush on Adam Driver (Who the character is based off of) so reading that and picturing him? Oomph.

Newest favorite character?
I absolutely loved Florence Day from The Dead Romantics, Charlie and Nick from Heartstopper, and Wren and Theo from The Prince and the Apocalypse.

Book that made you cry?
I know that there's at least one book that made me cry, but scrolling through my reads of the year I cannot for the life of me remember which ones.

Book that made you happy?
These romances all made me stupid happy, I used to detest romance, what is happening!?

And of course the Cozy Corgi series always makes me smile.

Most beautiful book you've bought/received this year?

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
I have a whole list! This is my 2024 TBR and I'm hoping to finish it all this year (Doubtful, but maybe)

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Stolen from A GREAT Read who stole it from Monstrumology

How long have you been blogging?
On and off since 2015 or 2016 I think. I started off with my mom on JennRenee Read and then when she got too busy I decided to make my own blog with everything that I like and not just for reading.

At which point do you think you'll stop blogging?
Hopefully never! I take breaks here and there but I don't know that I'll ever permanently stop.

What is the best part about blogging?
I don't know how to pick the "best part" because I love so much. Meeting new people, being able to talk about my favorite things, finding new books, being creative, using my brain. It's all great.

What is the worst? What do you do to make it okay?
When I don't get views and comments. It just feels kind of like why do I do it? It makes me sad.

Who is your book crush?
I do not have one. I mean there's been people in books I'm like "Damn, they sound hot." But not really anyone I'd consider a crush.

What author would you like to have on your blog?
Ahhh! Oh my gosh, that's so hard because I have so many faves. Riley Sager, Natalie D. Richards, Grady Hendrix, Darcy Coates...
I remember when I had April Henry on my blog and I cried when she said yes. Literally.

What do you wear to write your blog posts?
The comfiest of things. Leggings, pajama pants, or sweatpants. No bra, ever. And usually John's shirts.

How long does it take you to prepare?
Not long. Depending on what I want to do. I have a notebook I keep post ideas in but usually I just jump in whenever I have the chance. I used to get comfy and light candles and find something to watch, and get something to drink and snack and blah blah blah. Now it's whenever baby lets me do it.

How do you feel about the blogging community?
I love the community. I wish I could get myself deeper in but I have no idea how to go about that. But I love how supportive everyone is.

What do you think one should do to create a successful blog?
If you figure it out.. let me know.
