EN | 🤝 Who is visible to AI, and who remains invisible? For the sixth participatory workshop of the InterVisions project, we travelled to Warsaw together with Fundacja Kraina to explore how AI systems are experienced by people from diverse backgrounds, including participants from Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, China and Roma communities. The discussions highlighted how AI can reproduce geopolitical biases, stereotypes and exclusion, affecting everything from recruitment processes to the ways identities are recognised and represented. Participants also reflected on who is missing from AI datasets, pointing to the lack of representation of teenagers, disabled people in active roles, fathers as caregivers and multi-generational families. These conversations remind us that building fairer AI requires listening to the people whose experiences are too often left out of technological systems. #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ResponsibleAI #AIAct #Innovation #Technology #Intervisions #Poland #HumanRights

EN | 🤝 Who gets represented in AI and on whose terms? For the fifth participatory workshop of the InterVisions project, we travelled to Berlin, where we met at bUm - Raum für solidarisches Miteinander a community space born from collective organising and resistance to the expansion of Big Tech. It was the perfect setting to reflect on the relationship between technology, power and democracy. The workshop brought together people with diverse experiences of migration, activism, AI and digital technologies, opening up a rich conversation about representation, digital infrastructures and justice. 💬 One of the key discussions focused on the extractive nature of AI: Who provides the data that trains these systems? Who benefits from the value they generate? Who remains invisible or excluded? Participants also challenged us to rethink what fair representation in AI should actually mean. Should AI simply reproduce existing realities and inequalities, or can it help imagine and support more just futures? A huge thank you to BUM and everyone who joined the workshop for sharing their experiences, questions and ideas. Together, we continue working towards more inclusive, accountable and socially just DE | 🤝 Wer wird in der KI repräsentiert – und zu welchen Bedingungen? #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ResponsibleAI #AIAct #Innovation #Technology #Intervisions #Berlin #HumanRights

How can AI bring together different specialised models without losing what each one does best? 🧠🤝 In this short workshop interview, Joost van de Weijer from Computer Vision Center-CERCA explains the promise and complexity of model merging. The idea is powerful: models can be trained separately on different tasks, datasets or environments, and later combined into a stronger system. But the challenge is making sure that progress in one area does not weaken performance in another. 🎬 Hear Joost’s perspective on this testimonial.

Can #AI understand the complexity of human identities? In the fourth #InterVisions workshop, members of the #LGBTIQA+ community reflected on how #AI systems construct categories around #gender, sexuality, bodies and identities, and on the challenges that emerge when these categories fail to capture the diversity and complexity of human experiences. The discussion highlighted the importance of critically examining how #AI systems can simplify, label or overlook identities that fall outside dominant norms. #InterVisions is co-funded by the #EuropeanUnion under GA No. 101214711. #CVCEUproject #ParticipatoryAI #Intersectionality #ResponsibleAI #AI4Good #CitizenEngagement

Who is visible in vision-language #AI models, and who remains overlooked? In the third #InterVisions workshop, young people from the Roma community explored how #AI tools represent (or fail to represent) their identities and experiences, as well as the impact that underrepresentation and stereotypes can have both in digital spaces and beyond. #InterVisions is co-funded by the #EuropeanUnion under GA No. 101214711. #CVCEUproject #ParticipatoryAI #Intersectionality #ResponsibleAI #AI4Good #CitizenEngagement
