Hindustan Zinc raises renewable power share to 22%, targets 70% by FY28

During FY26, the company said it has generated 892 million units of green power, up from 632 million units in FY25. The company operates business units across Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, where it has been steadily expanding its renewable energy capabilities.
Hindustan Zinc said it has expanded its round-the-clock renewable energy power delivery agreement with Serentica Renewables from 450 MW to 530 MW.
Additionally, the company is advancing its energy transition by upgrading power connectivity from the state transmission network to the central transmission utility.
Other key initiatives include improving waste heat recovery from steam turbines and generating renewable energy through floating solar panels on water ponds.
"The next chapter of growth in metals and mining will be defined by our ability to produce more with a progressively lower environmental footprint," said Amarendu Prakash, CEO, Hindustan Zinc.
