[edit]Does he come from Suffolk or Sussex? There was a programme on BBC 4 about the people who collect honey in Nepal tonight (April 26 2009), on which Doherty said that came from either Suffolk or Sussex. I don't remember which. If any one does and could add this information to the "Biography" section, it would make this article more comprehensive, as would mention of Doherty's scientific background. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 21:31, 26 April 2009 (UTC) And about his scientific background. According to the Radio Times, dated March 14-20 2009, he studied spiders for a Ph.D. in entomology. I was a little unclear here, as I had always taken entomology to be the study of insects, which spiders are not! However, I am only going by what the Radio Times said (which, I do know, has made errors!) ACEOREVIVED (talk) 16:30, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Removed paragraph
[edit]The following short paragraph was removed by User:Ali jimmysfarm on 20 February 2015:
- Doherty has been accused of serving as an unpaid spokesman for the National Farmer's Union and the interests of agribusiness, particularly Monsanto.<ref>{{cite web|last=Matthews|first=Jonathan|title=Jimmy's GM Food Fix|url=http://www.spinwatch.org/index.php/issues/science/item/159-jimmys-gm-food-fix|publisher=Ecologist Magazine|accessdate=27 November 2012|date=29 November 2008}}</ref>
(nowiki tags added for the talk page only)
I initially restored it due to the user's suspected conflict of interest, but have since removed it again as, despite the potential COI, it does seem that the paragraph may give undue weight to a single person's opinion. I invite other editors to comment, and restore the paragraph if it would be appropriate to do so. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 11:10, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Requested move 31 July 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved and hatnote added to the article; for the time being, I have retained the disambiguation page at Jimmy Doherty (disambiguation), because of significant (article) edit history. Dekimasuよ! 17:44, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
Jimmy Doherty (farmer) → Jimmy Doherty – Two dabs. A hatenote will be sufficient. Unreal7 (talk) 14:46, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support. The fictional character isn't particularly notable and the farmer isn't fictional. —Xezbeth (talk) 16:54, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support per User:Xezbeth and WP:TWODABS. Also nb WP:2DABPRIMARY. — AjaxSmack 23:38, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Only the farmer has an article. Jimmy Doherty (Third Watch character) is only a redirect. Station1 (talk) 05:59, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Holy virus blocker, Batman!
[edit]Uhhh, what was that self-downloading PDF from a sketchy-looking Danish domain website that is linked to in the "Bibliography" section?? I skimmed the edit history and didn't find it, so I'm removing the section for now just to be safe. Someone can put it back if they know it's legit (ie, not malware or a pirated ebook). 67.183.192.152 (talk) 01:51, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
