As of Aug. 2009 it was already 9 years in the making with another 3 years until completion. In Sept. 2009 a ceremony took place where crosses were added to the top of the domes, and the church was blessed by the Catholicos. A couple years ago, one of the builders died by accidentally falling from the structure. (pictured) Some of the builders stand in the foreground in front of the church.
