Bolsover South railway station
Bolsover South railway station is a former railway station in Bolsover, Derbyshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Rail in 1951
The station was built in Carr Vale and it was one of the few places where a level crossing was necessary. [1] To the east was a hundred foot high limestone ridge through which it became necessary to drive the notorious Bolsover Tunnel. To the east of this was the next station at Scarcliffe
There was an earlier station at Bolsover on the Midland Railway Staveley Town to Pleasley branch.
