Biography

Takenokoshi was born in Oita. He played for Tokyo Imperial University LB and was a member of the Japan national team for the 1925 Far Eastern Championship Games in Manila, the 1927 Far Eastern Championship Games in Shanghai, and the 1930 Far Eastern Championship Games in Tokyo.

In 1934, Takenokoshi became manager for the Japan national team for the Far Eastern Championship Games in Manila. He was also manager for the Japan national team from 1938 to 1940, from 1951 to 1956, and from 1958 to 1959. In 1956, he managed in the 1956 Summer Olympics. He died on October 6, 1980 in Tokyo of a stroke.
