Talkin' 'bout Soul was Little Richard's twenty-first original album, comprising tracks recorded for Vee-Jay Records in 1964/1965. Although nine of the songs had been released on albums before, including the title track, this was the first time that "You Better Stop" and "Something Moves In My Heart" had been included on an album, thus warranting its inclusion into the album chronology.
History
As covered on the entry for Little Richard Is Back (And There's A Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On!), Richard recorded nearly fifty tracks for the Vee-Jay Records label in 1964/1965. With the collapse of the record label, many of these tracks went unreleased for many years. Due to the nature of these albums containing effectively 'new' material, they are included in the Little Richard album chronology, despite the material being nearly ten years old at the date of its release.
