Work to do on English Wikipedia
Photographs/media work
-
all 3 articles, quite rare photo (for us) of all 3 in same shot alone
-
Nelson Mandela or -->
- Adding NFCC images which arent suitable for Commons
- http://www.flickr.com/photos/jikatu/8172078593/ - Aspire Tower
Article work
Articles which I will be working on include:
- Drukair - bringing it up to FA (already GA)
- Vance Joy - expand it greatly
- Riptide (Vance Joy song) - this needs to be greatly expanded
- Aeroflot - bringing it up to GA, then FA (I have already done a lot of work on this, will look at having topic ban removed)
- Sukhoi Superjet 100 - bring it up to GA, then FA
Articles which I intend on creating, mainly by way of media I've uploaded include:
Other articles I was looking at creating:
- Ski Jumping Pairs -- inspiration from this
- Ilham Anas - id:Ilham Anas - previously deleted on this project but obviously passes WP:GNG
Dealing with copyright and image issues
- Files uploaded by User:Andreas11213 are not compliant with licencing conditions, and hence are copyright violations as they stand now. File:Sen Hon Brett Mason.jpg is an example of this (refer to File:Brett Mason.jpg to see how it should be!)
- Special:ListFiles/Biicl are likely copyvios. They are a range of resolutions from large to thumbnail, some with EXIF, some with EXIF but varying cameras.
- Nominate File:Ralph O'Neal appointed first premier.jpg, there's no EXIF data, and possibly not own work.
Moves
- Essair Airways --> Pioneer Air Lines
- Steve Price (coach) and Steve Price (rugby league) are different people but they are both connected with rugby league, therefore they really should be disambiguated in a more appropriate manner so that confusion is not caused.
WikiProject work
- With the kind help of User:Hym411, who translated Commons:User:Russavia/Flickr-letter into Korean for me, I managed to have the Korean Culture and Information Service relicence their Flickr stream to CC-BY-SA (Commons:Template:Korea.net). Hym411 has advised ko.wp of the existence of the photos, which can be found at Commons:Category:Files from Korea.net Flickr stream, and it would be beneficial to this project if I was able to advise Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea of the existence of these photos so that these extremely highly valuable photos can be put into relevant articles. In 24 hours, ko.wp has begun to put these images into use as seen here
- To engage with Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation to try and get help from project editors in compiling lists of official Flickr/social media photostreams of airports/airlines/manufacturers/etc to get media relicenced so they can be uploaded to Commons.
- The same thing but with other WikiProjects for individual countries to get help to compiles lists of governments/major corporations, etc.
- With the kind help of User:Zhuyifei1999, approximately 3,500 photos from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office which I had made available under the OGL have now been uploaded to Commons at Commons:Category:Files from Foreign and Commonwealth Office Flickr stream (to check). It would be beneficial to this project if I was able to advise Wikipedia:WikiProject International relations and Wikipedia:WikiProject United Kingdom of their existence.
Air Caribbean (Puerto Rico)
Dear Russavia: Thanks for creating Air Caribbean (Puerto Rico)! For a guy from Perth, you sure know a LOT about Puerto Rican aviation history! (I sure wish I on the other hand, knew as much about Australian Aviation history, but I can only go as far as Qantas and Ansett Airlines, lol!)
God bless!
