I want to assist in AFC, as I heard that it has a huge backlog that needs to be unjammed. I have been active in WP:NPP and vandalism hunting for the past 2 years. I am blocked once because of my foolishness in WP:3RR, it won't happen again. Thank you for considering my request, have a good day to y'all. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 01:49, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am familiar with the relevant policies and guidelines that govern new articles and notability, and would like to assist in the process of helping judge articles and, ideally, helping prospective editors understand areas where their proposed article may be lacking. I used to contribute as User:Abryn, and frequently review good articles. Cukie Gherkin (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Returning (July)

Hi! I'm hoping to help clear the backlog. I'll admit my experience in AFD is a little dated (mostly 2019-2020), when I was more active here on enwiki, but I think I still know my way around notability, the MOS, and other relevant guidelines and policies. Inactive reviewer — I did just leave a comment on a draft days ago but that obviously didn't satisfy the 6-month rule. Politely asking for reinstatement. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 01:49, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I was an active reviewer for a couple years before entering semi-retirement. I requested to be moved back to the Active list a few months ago, but suddenly got busy with school and didn't return to reviewing as soon as I had planned to. Didn't expect to be moved back to the inactive list so quickly (it's been <3 months since the request, and I have been active on WP), but I'd love to actually start reviewing again, so I'd appreciate being returned to Active. New (July)

I recently came across a request from an editor on WiR concerning an article (BLP that looks like it may now be a good candidate for publication) and thought to myself: hmmm, I wonder how one joins the AfC review group? And so, voilà, here I am. I believe that I have probably (just) enough experience under my belt to make myself useful. Hope you'll agree. I'd like to give it a try. Hello Administrator. Hope you are doing well. Willing to reduce AFC backlog and I previously granted this rights but somehow access was revoked. So, once again requesting here. This is my CSD log before getting blocked. In General, My blocked was lifted upon my request. Before I got blocked as a sockpuppet on 2 June 2022, till that date I haven't made any disruptive edits on Wikipedia but somehow I made a silly mistake by creating those accounts for vandalic edits where My intention was not to vandal the wikipedia and In my period of AFC access, I haven't misused my AFC rights. So, I think that I should re-added to the project. Thank you! Fade258 (talk) 16:03, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I wish to help reducing the number of awaiting drafts in the AfC backlog. I have been creating new articles since last September. I also have decent experience in nominating articles for deletion and participating in AfDs. Tutwakhamoe (talk) 20:43, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now. I think a little more experience would do you good; while you meet the numerical minimums, your AFD statistics indicate that you might not fully understand our notability criteria yet. Primefac (talk) 09:02, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I will come back with more experience in AFD. Charlie (talk) 01:32, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have recently taken to finding and tagging (for speedy deletion and for improvement) draft pages, primarily ones that are blatant advertisements. I have gotten better at discerning notable and non-notable topics using applicable guidelines since the last time I applied a year or two ago. Being able to use the AfC Helper tool would greatly increase my ability to help with draft articles and the AfC process. Capsulecap (talkcontribs) 21:43, 8 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would like to add that I do not have the CSD log enabled, so the only way you can see my CSD taggings is through checking my edits to user talk pages for CSD warnings. Capsulecap (talkcontribs) 18:21, 10 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have the experience necessary to participate in AfC work; I'm active on AfD and fully understand the AfD, CSD, and PROD processes, as well as Wikipedia's notability and BLP guidelines. I've recently joined WP:GOCE and am currently participating in this month's drive. I've created several high-quality articles in addition to >250 redirects. I've read and understood the AfC process instructions and wish to help with the backlog. Festucalextalk 15:03, 9 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to request to participate in this WikiProject because I am able to put constructive advice on people's drafts better and decline/accept them much quicker. I have more than 1000 undeleted edits and been around for about three years already. I've also participated in AfD discussions and requests articles for improvements.   Not done; your AFD stats leave much to be desired, and while you do have a few accepted drafts you also have a large number that were declined or rejected. Primefac (talk) 12:08, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I'd like to become an AFC reviewer to help out the Wikipedia community and help address the backlog, it's been on the back of my mind for a while. Also, due to my own experiences on Wikipedia, I want to provide a welcoming environment for new users submitting their first articles - alerting them to issues and the relevant policy in a collegial way. I've created 13 articles published directly to mainspace and written 4 from pre-existing stubs (see here for list); I'm generally regarded as pretty good with RS, NPOV, and notability guidelines. I'm admittedly not especially well-versed with deletions (I've participated in very few, though one AFD I participated in resulted in me writing the article from a poorly-sourced stub), but I've been reviewing the deletion criteria and AFC reviewer guidelines. My topic areas have usually been niche areas, usually in contentious topics, and I'm hoping to help out Wikipedia more generally outside of those. I would like to help out with reviewing AfC drafts. I was an admin from 2012–2015 before being procedurally desysopped for inactivity (see userpage for details) and have been consistently editing again since September. I have a solid knowledge of our notability and deletion policies, in particular through my participation at AfD and (to a lesser extent) CSD, where I have a good track record. I am also an experienced content creator, with a number of recent DYKs and numerous GAs and FAs from my earlier time editing. WJ94 (talk) 15:17, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Probation, which will be evaluated in 3-6 months. Being on probation only means that you can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion. This is primarily due your declined drafts, as otherwise your stats look okay. Primefac (talk) 08:00, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I am interested in becoming AFC Reviewer. The reason behind this request is that I submitted 2 drafts (1 in March-2023 and 1 in April-2023) which are still waiting to be reviewed. Then I found out that the backlog is very long so that's why I am volunteering for this task and willing to help in reducing the backlog. Please review my request and guide me if I am eligible to become AFC Reviewer or not. I have created 5 pages in the mainspace and I am also involved in the AFD discussions. Thanks Charsaddian (talk) 18:20, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I fail the criteria due to number of edits? Charsaddian (talk) 11:42, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Correct; when that happens I look no further, so you should still make sure you meet the more subjective criteria as well as the objective numerical criteria. Primefac (talk) 13:37, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm applying because I really like the draft system (all my created articles have been done through AfC). I sometimes look through the new pages feed, I feel there's often a lot in AfC that I feel confident in knowing either is innaproriate, appropriate, or would be appropriate with some edits. Cheers for consideration. -- NotCharizard 🗨 09:57, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
As someone who has had articles waiting in the AfC I understand how someone feels when this occurs. When I work on Wikipedia I often want to take a break an explore new content so I turn to the AfC submissions. I hope that since I am looking at them anyways I could help give feedback and get them on the greater Wikipedia mainspace. OLI 11:34, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have twice now come across AfCs relating to Switzerland that had been rejected eventhough they met notability criteria, so I suspect there's both too much volume to spend a decent amount of time poking around available sources, as well as a shortage of people knowing enough French/German to check references and evaluate Switzerland-related content. Fair enough, and that's why I'd like to help (I've read the Criteria and I seem to fit the requirements). I'm looking to help clear up the backlog of articles in fields I'm interested in. I'm familiar with the guidelines for notability, and I've been creating many new articles for the last year or so, mostly focusing on translation of foreign articles. HappyWith (talk) 20:00, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi there - I've been helping out at the AfC Help Desk and the Teahouse for a couple of months now, specifically giving advice to new users on their drafts. I'd now like to help tackle the backlog.
