Rosenthal worked for [[BBC Radio WM|BBC Radio Birmingham]] before moving to [[BBC Radio 2]]. In the 1980s, Rosenthal commentated on boxing matches for ITV when first-choice commentator [[Reg Gutteridge]] was otherwise engaged or unable to travel.
