Garlemald took everything from her: her family, her tribe, and her innocence. Gone was the child, left behind in the after math of the machina attack. Instead a terrified young adult ran for her life. She ran until her feet bled and her body shut down from hunger and exhaustion. Anger, hot and wild, simmered patiently in her heart. Revenge would be sweet.
Unexpected meetings turn to an unlikely path..
Penny found herself in what would become her home, her safe haven, within the Empire controlled and war ravaged lands. The Madame saw that she was tended to until she was strong enough to be put to work... In the kitchens. When she was young she was not allowed on the upper floors. It was only later that she realized why.
The House of Midnight..
An unlikely place to now call home but home it was. A brothel but also a well constructed network of spies and assassins all working for the Madame. Each member of the house excelled in the art of seduction but also the art of death. Penny would learn both with time. No longer a waif, she had become quite the woman. And soon she would become Thuulstrea.

Murmurs of unrest within the city would push Penny into recklessness, halting the punishment of a child at the hand of a mage. What followed was torture unlike any she had or would ever experience thus far in her life. Scars decorated her back once she came back to consciousness and the inky blackness of revenge expanded in her heart.
