• “Voices will speak” featured on Metapsychosis

I’m happy to share this extensive editorial by Michael Eisenberg.

Revealing/Concealing piece has been curated for Acousmatic Crossings segment of the portal. Michael explains: “Memory, imagination, and deep listening begin to take over as familiar reference points fall away. The result is music that feels mysterious, physical, and constantly in motion.”

  • Finally! New Dubtrak music…

It’s been too long since some new Dubtrak music was released but the wait is finally over.

Through most of 2024 I was busy with getting the new home studio equipped, up and running, plus I focused on some side ambient projects, like Soundscape Garden.

For 2025 it’s all about to change. A lot of new Dubtrak music is coming up and this first EP is just the beginning.

“Hello, Robots!” is a psychedelic exploration of a New World where we’re welcoming robots into our lives. (Or, are we?) In a nutshell, it’s a brief history of how we got here and where we’re going.

  • Intersonic Subformation featured on Imaginary North new album

In just four years, the Toronto label Imaginary North has rewritten the rules of ambient success in the world of streaming music. “We want people to see how ambient music is more than just the music you hear at the spa, that it’s music created by humans with a passion for finding the details in the calm, mellow, and quiet textures,” Imaginary North founder Daniel Field tells Exclaim! magazine.

Imaginary North Transmission 010“, released March 21, “showcases some of the best ambient music from around the world. Out of the 17 artists featured on this one, 9 are brand new to the label, and we are so excited to share some excellent music from all corners of the world.” explains Field in the album release notes.

My track “In Waves” is featured on this album and I’m very excited to be included in such fine company.

  • This is my Soundscape Garden

Earlier this year I started a new project which would focus on ambient and meditative soundscapes.

So far I’ve released two albums with focus on nature and changing seasons.

Painted Green” is seamlessly flowing mix of handpan, harp, and guitar melodies, placed on top of lush synth pads and string arrangements.

Painted Gold” is structured around three improvisation jams I recorded out in my garden, on a beautifully warm and sunny fall day. Canadian autumn is on full display,  both through the music on this album and the YouTube video that accompanies this album.

  • Back on Track

With a newly finished home studio and with some new gear, I’ve completed the new six-track album within a couple of weeks. “Back on Trak” lands squarely in a space where darker moods interplay with a mindset of “not taking oneself too seriously”.

The foundation is dub, the projection is psychedelic, the sounds are both, retro and futuristic, and the space is filled with swirling air of bouncy echoes.

I feel that, with this “new beginning” (when it comes to the space and workflow) but old and tested vibe, I’m starting to channel long suppressed creative juices into something super exciting.

  • The flow (revisited)

I  consider “Be in the flow” (released on Mystic Sound Records in 2015) one of my most “colorful” albums, so far. During the COVID pandemic I took a good, careful listen – after not hearing the album for quite a while – and noticed that even though the tracks are well crafted, have decent melodies and captivating grooves, they luck… the flow! So, after some edits (peeling off some extra layers within the original mix, and adding some gentle touches here and there), I think these tracks finally have some room to “breath”.
Take a listen and, hopefully, you’ll enjoy the time you spend in the Flow (revisited).

  • Standing with Ukraine

While my heart is heavy with sadness and anger, I decided today to put this compilation of my music together and encourage everyone to direct their thoughts to people of Ukraine and their struggle.

This album is offered as a free download but, if you “name-your-price”, I’ll match the amount and donate to Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to support Ukrainian population impacted by the invasion.

However, to avoid unnecessary delays, I encourage you to donate directly to a trusted charity of your choice that supports the same cause.

  • Nectar: 2021 alternative version (we all need some medicine…)

As year 2021 ran its course, I think most of us felt like many things did not unvail as we wished. My early 2021 optimistic and upbeat EP “2021: a new hope odyssey” needed some rework…

So I’ve recorded these alternative versions of the tracks. The EP is now available on all major streaming platforms

  • Icy Rainbows

Inaugural album from my new side project, Icy Rainbows, has been released on Kahvi Collective, a cult label releasing quality artists in the IDM, electronica, ambient and chillout since 1997. Yes, that’s the netlabel that also released Liquid Stranger and Solar Fields music in the past 😉

Here is how Nik, who runs the label, describes this album: “A release by guest artist ‘Icy Rainbows’ now, with an album of almost the same name, I See Rainbows. Mixture of found sound, resampled audio from various sources, distorted beats all come together in a kaleidoscope of sonic colours. Echoes of classic Future Sound of London from the early 90s with acoustic, electric and synthetic elements.

  • 2021: a new hope odyssey

Dubtrak’s latest release, a 5-track EP “2021: a new hope odyssey”, is available via Bandcamp (as a “name-your-price” release). Also available on all other major digital distribution channels (iMusic, Spotify, Amazon, etc).
