RIP Jason McCash - Gates of Slumber

Jason McCash (far left), passed away today (4/6/14).  He was one of the founding members of Gates of Slumber from Indianapolis, Indiana, along with Karl Simon (center).  Also pictured, Chris Gordon (one of several drummers the long-running band had throughout it’s two decades).

“Shocked and saddened to hear that Jason McCash of The Gates of Slumber passed away suddenly at the age of 37. Jason and I spent many, many hours in the studio together working on the Gates’ LPs and EPs. He was a hell of a musician and an incredibly warm and thoughtful human being. We were supposed to get together recently to work on remastering one of his projects; I’m sad that we won’t get that chance now. Rest in peace, brother. A memorial fund has been set up to help the McCash family pay for Jason’s funeral expenses, which as you know are not inexpensive for anyone. In my Sunday night live broadcast on Grip of Delusion radio, I will be paying tribute to our fallen metal brother in the first hour of the program (7-9 pm PST/10 pm - Midnight EST).
