# Overview

> The guided, sequential path that teaches the Gas City model by building one city up.

The Tutorials are the guided, end-to-end path through Gas City: numbered,
sequential, every command runnable. Each one builds on the last, taking a
single city from empty workspace to orchestrator-driven coordination so you
learn the model by doing — cities, agents, and sessions get you to a working
agent; formulas and orders hand the wheel to the orchestrator.

For the conceptual model underneath, start with the [six
primitives](/getting-started/how-gas-city-works).

Follow them in order:

1. [Cities and Rigs](/tutorials/01-cities-and-rigs) — create a city, add a project as a rig, and sling your first work to an agent.
2. [Agents](/tutorials/02-agents) — define a custom agent with its own role and prompt, then sling work to it.
3. [Sessions](/tutorials/03-sessions) — watch agent output, talk to agents directly, and tell on-demand from always-on sessions.
4. [Communication](/tutorials/04-communication) — how agents coordinate through mail, slung work, and hooks, without direct connections.
5. [Formulas](/tutorials/05-formulas) — capture a multi-step job as a reusable method, then dispatch it as an orchestrator-routed workflow graph.
6. [Beads](/tutorials/06-beads) — the universal work primitive that sessions, mail, and convoys are made of and that formulas materialize into.
7. [Orders](/tutorials/07-orders) — trigger formulas on a schedule, a condition, or an event, with no human in the loop.

By the end you'll dispatch a formula and watch the orchestrator drive the whole
graph to completion across your fleet, on its own.
