35 years ago, a modest open source project changed the technology world forever. Happy 35th Birthday, Linux! 🐧✨ When Linus Torvalds made that legendary announcement in 1991, few could have predicted a community-driven kernel would end up powering supercomputers, public clouds, space missions, and the global economy. Shortly after the revolution began, SUSE created the world's very first enterprise Linux distribution. We saw the raw potential of open source and built the bridge to make it stable, secure, and ready for mission-critical business. Decades later, our green chameleon heart beats just as strongly for open collaboration as it did on day one. From floppy disks to edge computing, cloud-native deployments, and AI infrastructure, we are incredibly proud to have grown up alongside this amazing community.
