Throwback to a mission for our ON-SITEᴾˡᵘˢ service experts in Australia. 🇦🇺 Following a bird strike, a V2500 engine needed immediate attention. Several fan blades and Stage 1.5 low-pressure compressor blades were damaged beyond serviceable limits, and the complete attrition lining and two anti-ice panels had to be replaced. Our ON-SITEᴾˡᵘˢ specialists from MTU Maintenance Hannover stepped in, assessed the situation, and helped get the aircraft back into service. #PassionForEngines

MTU lands 500 million US dollars in orders at Farnborough International Airshow ✈ Strong demand across all market segments: MTU Aero Engines is returning from the Farnborough International Airshow with orders totaling approximately 500 million US dollars. The orders cover engines for short- and medium-haul aircraft, long-haul aircraft, and regional jets, highlighting the strength and diversity of MTU’s engine portfolio. A significant share of the orders comes from the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engine family. Airlines including British Airways and Tigerair Taiwan, as well as lessor Jackson Square, selected the PW1100G-JM to power their Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Meanwhile, the Abra Group, Binter Canarias, and Luxair placed orders for Embraer E2 family regional jets, powered exclusively by the PW1900G. 🔧 The GEnx engine for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner also saw strong momentum, with Philippine Airlines and AerCap selecting the engine for a total of 30 aircraft. In addition, National Airlines ordered six CF6-80C2 engines. 🌍 “The high demand underscores MTU’s positive growth prospects,” said Dr. Johannes Bussmann, CEO of MTU Aero Engines AG.
