🤖 From experiments to an AgileHRI ecosystem: ARISE is heading to Menton! On 8–9 September, the teams from the second ARISE Open Call will meet face-to-face with mentors and project partners for the ARISE Readiness Lab, co-located with the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 in Menton, France. And this is not just another project meeting. We learned something important from our first round of experiments: when you want teams to collaborate, solve problems together and discover synergies, human connections matter. So the Readiness Lab has been designed as two intensive working sessions to help our experiments move forward — together. 📌 On Day 1, we'll kick off the mentoring journey, meet the experiment teams and work through the ARISE Starter Kit, including Vulcanexus, ROS4HRI, the SSH framework and business support. 📌 On Day 2, the focus moves directly to each experiment: stress-testing the Proof of Concept, defining the roadmap towards a TRL6/7 demonstrator, and identifying the reusable HRI capabilities that can live beyond an individual experiment. But there is another objective behind these two days. We want the connections created between experiments, mentors and ARISE partners to become the foundations of something bigger: a long-lasting AgileHRI ecosystem for industrial Human-Robot Interaction in Europe. See you in Menton! 🇫🇷

As AI becomes a strategic capability, Europe faces a defining challenge: achieving AI sovereignty while remaining competitive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Join us at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 for the panel: 🎙 "Fostering a Competitive and Sovereign European AI Ecosystem" Moderated by Suna Akbayir (CEO, Artech International BVBA & Beyond Bar Code), with panelists George S. Theodoropoulos (AI Researcher, ITML) and Tomé Ferreira (Senior Researcher, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden). This panel explores model specialisation as a key enabler for European AI sovereignty, arguing that the future of European AI may not lie in competing head-to-head on the largest foundation models, but in developing highly capable, trustworthy and domain-specific models tailored to Europe's industrial strengths, regulatory framework and societal values. Bringing together experts from academia, industry and policy, it asks how specialisation can accelerate trustworthy AI adoption, strengthen Europe's strategic autonomy, and perhaps redefine what leadership in AI looks like, not by building the biggest models, but by building the right ones. 🎟️ Grab your ticket: https://lnkd.in/dsk-eA3j 📋 Discover the full agenda: https://lnkd.in/dkwU9BXU The 2026 edition is organized with the collaboration and support of Ville de Menton, Communauté de la Riviera française - CARF, Office de Tourisme Menton, Riviera & Merveilles, EGM, MNX Online and TOURiLab Data Space. #FIWARE #FIWARESummit26 #AI #DigitalSovereignty #DataSpaces #Menton

"Is there parking available near the Comédie?" A resident should be able to just ask, and get an accurate, live answer straight from the city's data. Jérémie Valentin (Open Data Project Manager, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole) and co-presenter Benoit Orihuela (Lead Architect, EGM) will take the stage at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 to present: 🎙 "Talking to the City: An LLM + MCP Chatbot for Querying NGSI-LD Context Data in Montpellier" Montpellier's smart-city platform exposes a rich, continuously updated context in an NGSI-LD Context Broker: real-time parking availability, mobility flows, environmental sensors and more. Yet today this data stays largely out of reach for residents, locked behind structured APIs built for developers, not citizens. This talk presents a production chatbot that lets citizens ask natural-language questions and get accurate, up-to-date answers grounded directly in the city's NGSI-LD context data. It combines a large language model with an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server exposing NGSI-LD-aware tools, so the model retrieves live data from the context broker rather than relying on static or hallucinated knowledge. The presentation will also cover what it takes to run this in production, from the guardrails that keep answers grounded in available data to the cost optimization that keeps it sustainable, and how the same MCP layer generalises to any FIWARE-based context broker. 🎟️ Grab your ticket: https://lnkd.in/dsk-eA3j 📋 Discover the full agenda: https://lnkd.in/dkwU9BXU The 2026 edition is organized with the collaboration and support of Ville de Menton, Communauté de la Riviera française - CARF, Office de Tourisme Menton, Riviera & Merveilles, EGM, MNX Online and TOURiLab Data Space. #FIWARE #FIWARESummit26 #SmartCity #NGSILD #LLM #OpenData #Menton

Discover how the upcoming NGSI-LD "service execution" extensions enable the orchestration of complex environmental models and IoT actuations as first-class operations in a FIWARE-based urban water platform. Luc Gasser (Software Development Engineer, EGM) and Thomas Bousselin (Backend Engineer, EGM) will take the stage at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 to present: 🎙 "NGSI-LD Service Execution in Practice: Orchestrating CAFLOOD and IoT Commands with Stellio" CAFLOOD is a 2D cellular-automata flood model capable of simulating detailed pluvial and fluvial inundation from DEMs, rain events and inflows. NGSI-LD, as specified by ETSI CIM 009, already standardises context management across smart city domains, and is being extended with service execution capabilities (GR-055) to support on-demand, parameterised operations over context. In the demo, CAFLOOD is exposed as an NGSI-LD service execution resource behind a Stellio context broker, allowing users to trigger a full flood simulation via a single NGSI-LD endpoint. Scenario configuration is stored as linked data attributes, while the new service execution spec drives the full CAFLOOD pipeline and materialises results back into NGSI-LD entities for consumption by DSS dashboards and other FIWARE components. 🎟️ Grab your ticket: https://lnkd.in/dsk-eA3j 📋 Discover the full agenda: https://lnkd.in/dkwU9BXU The 2026 edition is organized with the collaboration and support of Ville de Menton, Communauté de la Riviera française - CARF, Office de Tourisme Menton, Riviera & Merveilles, EGM, MNX Online and TOURiLab Data Space. #FIWARE #FIWARESummit26 #NGSILD #DigitalTwin #SmartWater #IoT #Menton

Across sectors, the primary barrier to smart solutions is not a lack of promising innovations. It is the lack of a trusted operating environment that turns those promising innovations into solutions which can be easily integrated and adopted at large scale, and are therefore more sustainable as a business in the market. Juanjo Hierro (Chairman, FIWARE Technical Steering Committee) will take the stage at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 to present: 🎙 "Building a Sustainable Innovation-driven Ecosystem for Plug&Play Smart Solutions in Multiple Sectors" FIWARE brings all the components to create an infrastructure relying on a common, digital twin-based integration framework, enabling any smart solution to expose and consume data and services, be discovered and contracted through a global marketplace, and be integrated plug&play with other solutions with limited integration effort and without requiring strong digital skills. Juanjo's presentation elaborates on this vision and the opportunities it may bring to sectors that would otherwise remain fragmented, and where SMEs developing smart solutions face barriers to grow and become sustainable. For this opportunity to be captured, there is a need not only to bring the technology enablers but to foster the adoption of the envisioned ecosystem, engaging Digital Innovation Hubs across sectors. 🎟️ Grab your ticket: https://lnkd.in/dsk-eA3j 📋 Discover the full agenda: https://lnkd.in/dkwU9BXU The 2026 edition is organized with the collaboration and support of Ville de Menton, Communauté de la Riviera française - CARF, Office de Tourisme Menton, Riviera & Merveilles, EGM, MNX Online and TOURiLab Data Space. #FIWARE #FIWARESummit26 #DigitalTwin #DataSpaces #PlugAndPlay #Interoperability #Menton

The ETSI Specialist Task Force STF 704 will be with us at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 next month to share their work on new European standards for Local Digital Twins. Local Digital Twins hold enormous potential for cities and communities, but fragmentation still makes it difficult to reuse solutions across cities, combine technologies from different providers, and bring successful approaches to scale. STF 704 is working to change this. Their work is developing a common European foundation for interoperable Local Digital Twins through: 👉 EN 304 181 – Reference Architecture: An interoperable, AI-based Local Digital Twin architecture, aligned with the CitiVerse EDIC. 👉 EN 304 182 – Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms: MIMs 0, 1, 2 and 7, building on Living-in.EU and ITU-T specifications. 👉 TR 104 183 – Implementation Guidance: A practical companion report bringing the standards closer to implementation through use cases and migration guidance. Why does this matter? A shared approach can make it easier to replicate solutions across cities, reduce vendor lock-in, and create greater scale and opportunity for European SMEs and technology providers. The standards build on years of European initiatives and expertise, while bringing together input from experts across Europe through dedicated interviews and workshops. The work is identified under Action 17 of the Annual Union Working Plan, responds to objectives in the 2025 ICT Rolling Plan, and is supported through an action grant under the Single Market Programme. This session is an opportunity to discuss the work and, importantly, to hear from the community developing and implementing Local Digital Twins in practice. 📅 10 September, 14:30-15:30 at the FIWARE Global Summit 2026 🗣️ Franck Le Gall (CEO, EGM & Vice-Chair, ETSI TC DATA), Martin Bauer (Principal Standardization Engineer, NEC Laboratories Europe) and Vincent Demortier (Creative Technologist, OASC/DIH FbN) 🤝 ETSI in collaboration with EGM, NEC Corporation and Open & Agile Smart Cities & Communities (OASC) 🎟️ Grab your Summit ticket: https://lnkd.in/dsk-eA3j 📋 Discover the full agenda: https://lnkd.in/dkwU9BXU The 2026 edition is organized with the collaboration and support of Ville de Menton, Communauté de la Riviera française - CARF, Office de Tourisme Menton, Riviera & Merveilles, EGM, MNX Online and TOURiLab Data Space.
