Finding available truck parking spaces remains one of the biggest challenges for long-haul drivers. 🅿️🚛 According to the ADAC, there is still a shortage of around 20,000 truck parking spaces along Germany’s motorways*. Particularly at night, the shortage becomes increasingly apparent. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is therefore expanding its Remote App with a new parking feature designed to help drivers locate available truck parking spaces more easily. 📲📌 At a glance: ➡️ New parking feature displays current parking capacity and occupancy status ➡️ Public truck parking areas in Germany integrated at market launch ➡️ Expansion to Austria underway, with additional European countries to follow gradually ➡️ Feature available in the Mercedes-Benz Truck Remote App from the end of August 🔗 Press release: https://dth.ag/MBTRA #DaimlerTruck #MercedesBenzTrucks #RemoteApp *Source: https://dth.ag/ADAC

130 years after the invention of the truck we are celebrating 130 years of FORWARD – here’s episode #14 of our anniversary series: moving India forward. Past Forward: When BHARATBENZ entered the Indian market in 2012, it did more than launch a new range of trucks – it redefined the standards of the commercial vehicle industry in India. At a time when the market was dominated by cowl trucks, where only the engine and chassis were sold and cabins were locally built with limited safety or comfort, BharatBenz introduced a new benchmark with fully built, factory-fitted all-steel cabins designed to global safety standards. Models such as the 2523R, 2523C, and 3123C brought European engineering and powerful 230 HP engines to India’s volume segment, setting new benchmarks for performance and reliability. The move pushed competitors to modernize their own product portfolios. BharatBenz also made driver comfort, safety, and efficiency a priority. Features such as air-conditioned cabins, power steering, anti-roll bars, intelligent instrument clusters, and advanced fuel-efficiency systems brought technologies once considered premium into everyday trucking. Fast Forward: In 2025, BharatBenz further strengthened its presence in the construction and mining segment with the launch of the new HX and Torqshift range, built for India’s rapidly growing infrastructure sector. This milestone reflects how BharatBenz has evolved over the past 13 years - transforming itself into a strong and trusted player in the Indian commercial vehicle industry. Today, BharatBenz vehicles are actively contributing to some of the country’s most critical infrastructure and development projects. Want to learn more? 130 years after the invention of the truck we are celebrating 130 years of FORWARD – here’s episode #13 of our anniversary FORWARD series: Digital Spare Parts. Past forward, in 1996, Daimler Buses GmbH opened its new Spare Parts Logistics Center in Neu-Ulm, Germany. The facility became the central hub for bus spare parts supply, ensuring the rapid availability and worldwide distribution of thousands of original parts. By continuously expanding logistics capabilities and inventory, Daimler Buses has been helping operators keep their vehicles on the road for decades. Fast forward to today, with additive manufacturing and the Digital Warehouse, Daimler Buses is taking spare parts supply into the digital age. Instead of storing selected components in physical warehouses, digital part data can be made available for on-demand production using 3D-printing technology. This enables faster availability, reduces inventory requirements and allows parts to be produced locally when needed. In contrast to traditional mass production, additive manufacturing also makes economically viable production runs of just a single part possible, opening new opportunities for customized and low-volume components. What once required stocking and shipping physical components can now, in selected cases, begin with the transfer of digital data, making spare parts supply more flexible, efficient and future-ready. In Stuttgart (Germany), two Setra S 415 UL buses have been converted into libraries on wheels. 🚌📚 “The children love the bus and always want to ride along”, says Stephanie Zeiner, Head of Stuttgart Mobile Library. She took the wheel of the library about a year ago – quite literally! The librarian has a bus driver’s licence herself and, if her drivers are unavailable, she is able to fill in.
