Continental enters final phase of realignment with strong second quarter. “We significantly increased our profitability and free cash flow. The main drivers for Tires were a higher share of tires measuring 18 inches and above, lower impacts from exchange rates and tariffs, and positive effects from raw-material prices,” said Continental CFO Roland Welzbacher.

From tree to tire sounds simple. But when it comes to natural rubber, it’s one of the most complex supply chains in tire production. From harvest to our tire factories, natural rubber passes through many hands. Farmers dry the latex on-site and sell it to traders at local collection points. Traders then transport it to processing plants, where it's washed, homogenized and dried into bales. These bales are then shipped across the globe by cargo ship and truck until they finally reach our production lines. Each step adds complexity, which is why traceability is one of our biggest priorities: only when we know exactly where our rubber comes from can we ensure that it is produced without deforestation and under fair working conditions. To bring transparency to this journey, we are working directly at the source. In Indonesia's Kapuas Hulu district on Borneo, we have partnered with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to train smallholders in sustainable cultivation since 2018. This helps protect valuable ecosystems, strengthen local livelihoods and secure the long-term supply of high-quality natural rubber. Combined with digital technologies, this enables full traceability from tree to tire. Find out more: https://ow.ly/hiPo50ZreUw

What's the best way to truly understand the spirit of the Tour de France? 🚴 Experience it for yourself and put our tires to the test on the very same roads as the pros. As part of our Tour de France sponsorship, we invited 40 customers to join us for an unforgettable ride: 77 kilometers from Hagetmau to Bordeaux, covering roughly half the distance of stage 7. The demanding route was the perfect proving ground for our Grand Prix 5000 tires and the feedback was unanimous: they deliver exceptional performance, no matter the terrain. Take a look at the highlights and see how our guests became part of the Tour de France story. 🎬

They also considered certifications, transparency in sustainability reporting and the implementation of supporting processes. Here are just a few examples of our progress: 🛞 28% of the production materials we purchased in 2025 were renewable or recycled, keeping us on track toward our goal of at least 40% by 2030 🔍 Expanded traceability of raw materials and increased use of certified supply chains ⚡ Around 180,000 metric tons of CO2 eliminated from tire production over the past four years ✔ Complete phase-out of coal and heavy fuel oil at all our tire production sites since early 2026 ➡️And more: https://ow.ly/vkOK50ZoP64

Natural rubber makes up to 20% of a passenger car tire’s and up to 40% of a truck tire’s weight – and for good reason. The molecular structure of natural rubber gives tires unique properties that synthetic alternatives as of today simply cannot replicate. That's why, in modern tire design, natural rubber isn't a legacy material – it's indespensable. With more than 70% of the global natural rubber production being used for tires, our industry depends on this resource like no other. This comes with responsibility: we are committed to sourcing natural rubber transparently and responsibly – protecting forests, biodiversity and the livelihoods of the smallholder farmers who cultivate the Hevea brasiliensis tree in tropical regions.
