Après la pluie...

Hi everyone!

Today marks the start of challenge #3 on

The theme is: Rainbow, sun and clouds

Our challenge blog is all about little things—more specifically, little cards.
Any card type that is smaller than a standard card (10,5 x 15 cm / 4.1" x 5.9" inch) is okay,
such as ATCs,  ATC coins, tags, Memorydex cards,
Mini Moo cards, bookmarks, inchies, etc.
The variety of card shapes gives you plenty of room to create something that suits your personal taste.

Here’s what came to mind...

For these two ATCs, I used mostly things I already had on hand.
A while back, I wanted to make a card using a large background (15 x 10.5 cm), but I thought it was too huge and couldn't figure out how to work with it. So it ended up in my stash.
The dog and the girl have been lying around for months—but today was one of those days where everything just came together! :))

I cut two ATC cards out of the large background, brushed the sky with Mermaid Lagoon (Distress Oxide), and stuck two strips of washi tape at the bottom of each card. For the houses, I just went with the colours of the stamp design—not very imaginative, I know!
The clouds were part of the large stamp; all I had to do was stamp the sentiment and raindrops and stick on the dog.

Same goes for the second ATC. The sun, brushed with Wild Honey (Distress Oxide), was also part of the large background stamp. I just glued on the girl and the sentiment, which I had stamped on a small label.
I didn't add a rainbow, but I tried to include at least some of its colors here and there.

The French sentiment says:
Après la pluie vient le beau temps
After rain comes sunshine

I'm really looking forward to seeing
what creative ideas you'll come up with for this month's challenge!

...the stamp I used as a background for the ATC's, in its entirety.

Ruff Day!

Hi everyone!

Time for a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create

The theme is: Animal Magic
(create something featuring your pet or favorite animal)
Alternately "Anything Goes"

I love animals, and as babies, they're even more adorable and simply irresistible.
When my eyes fell on this very old image, I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it.

The picture was part of a set of images for a 3D card I made a long time ago for my dear aunt,
who loves dogs more than anything.
The little puppy was the only thing left from the set, and today, over ten years later,
it has finally found its place on an ATC.
The pink background was, in my opinion, a little too dominant—even though I love that color!
So, I added hearts with texture paste, stars with a stencil, and some bits of washi tape. I think that gave the picture a nice balance.
Finally, I embossed a short sentiment, cut it out, and glued it onto the ATC.

Hope to see you play along with 613 Avenue Create

Have Fun!
...and thanks for stopping by!

Katzelkraft - Don't be afraid

Hi everyone!
I am back with my weekly Katzelkraft card.

Today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. And what better pets to dress up than those from Katzelkraft?
Besides those stamps have been collecting dust... ...they really needed some fresh air!

I stamped the animals, colored them with alcohol ink markers and then cut them out. I dressed them with the clothes of the Pabos - also colored with alcohol inks and cut out.
I heat embossed the quote on a black strip. Added the bird and stuck everything onto a stenciled background.
Rounded off the card with a few dots on the right edge and a strip of black paper at the bottom - with white Posca pen doodles.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft creation! ;)

Katzelkraft - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hi everyone!
I'm back with Katzelkraft Christmas card number two.
The brand has released new stamps a few months ago. I used two from the Maryse Carrier collection and combined them with a few older stamps from Katzelkraft.

I only used the animals from the Maryse Carrier stamps.
The Christmas tree and the floor are stamped on directly, everything else is cut out and glued on.
I colored with alcohol ink markers and glitter pens (Christmas balls). The sentiment is heat embossed. The top of the tree is adorned by a star (sticker).

Hope you like this little Christmas scene. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft creation! ;)

Katzelkraft - I am happier than...

Hi everyone!
It's Katzelkraft day :))

Today I used “Enervy dog”, an older but no less funny mini stamp from Katzelkraft.
Apparently he hasn't had time to drink his coffee yet, judging by the look on his face. Lol

I really enjoyed making this ATC. As a background I recycled an old birthday card, which my husband received many years ago. Commercial cards are always more or less shiny, so I brushed the ATC with a little gesso to reduce the shine and also to be able to stamp. Otherwise, I'd have had to use StazOn ink, which I don't like the smell of.
Enervy dog is sitting on Flat pebbles, one of the new Katzelkraft stamps (both colored with alcohol ink markers).
I also used some background stamps, such as Spiral borders and Background circles.
The quote is from the Sea cube quotes by Tera Callihan, one of the new Stampotique by Katzelkraft stamp sets. I heat embossed it onto black cardstock, cut it into labels and stuck them on.

Here you can see the card I recycled.
I even used the border for the pebbles.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft creation! ;)
